“Rumble of Ruins”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

Lucky we could enter this site free of charge as part of the fee we paid to go and see the Acropolis. This is a large area with heaps of ruins in rumble but with no map to guide us or additional information it was difficult to fully appreciate the site.

“Terrific site - lots of history”
Reviewed 12 July 2014 via mobile

Downhill from the Acropolis, this is a must see in Athens. Its big and takes some time to explore fully. Lots of ruins. Highlights include the church, the Stoa (which has a terrific small museum in it) and the large Temple on the western end. We were there during the summer in the early afternoon and it was hot - bring lots of water and a hat. There are bathrooms and water fountains at the Stoa. Also, if you exit out the north side, it is just a few blocks to Souvlaki Row and other eating options.

The cost is included w the 12E Acropolis ticket. Well worth it. Kids 18 and under are free. Go.

“Fascinating history”
Reviewed 11 July 2014

We downloaded the Rick Steeves guide to the Agora. It is a free audio guide. He talked about the history of the Agora and how it was used in ancient Greece. The audio tour certainly made the experience more meaningful.

“No crowds, some shade, less restrictive”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

Fewer fencing so you are allowed to explore more of the site than the others. Don't miss the stoa which, although completely rebuilt, still reflects the wonderful original architecture and acts as an open air museum,
