My wife and I stayed here last week for 3days .It's location is superb right next to the presidential palace and within walking distance of all the major sites , Acropolis , Bars , restaurants shopping etc . If you want to familiarise yourself and see how close everything is then just take a round trip €18 on the red city tour bus . Stop 1 is virtually outside the front door . When we stayed the hotel was extremely busy . The check in was under staffed as was the club room check in and although the staff were friendly and helpful when you found them they did appear under pressure and the resulting service slow for a hotel of this type .
The room was large and well equipped but irritatingly without tea making or ironing facility's . It seems to be with many 5 star hotels that the more you pay the less you get . Personally even though I love top hotels I do like the convenience of being able to make a cup of tea when I want and iron a shirt without having to keep calling room service .
Big plus points were the top floor restaurant with great views of the Acropolis and the well equipped basement spa and swimming pool .
Overall enjoyed our stay though would prefer it a little less chaotic . We did have an excellent evening meal in their sister hotel The George next door The lovely contemporary restaurant also had great views of the Acropolis but had the benefit of a more relaxed atmosphere and more attentive staff . Worth a try .

It's a well maintained grand old hotel. The room was slighly small considering the price paid but it was clean, well appointed and the bathroom was floor to ceiling marble and updated. Service level was also understated and fine. All good.
Also-If you have a chance you must dine in the rooftop restaurant. The food was very good and the view of the Acropolis lit up at night is worth every penny.

Room 312 with a view, to be remembered.

From our arrival to our departure everything we could have hoped for and more.

We booked through BA with a complimentary upgrade, so were expecting a nice room. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised when told we had been upgraded again to a Deluxe room but with a balcony overlooking the Square and with views stretching as far as the Parthenon. I spent quite a few hours on that Balcony watching the world go and the Evzoni guards strutting their stuff (One of whom fell over on the Sunday parade and I had to chuckle although the crowd gave him a great cheer for his recovery).

The room was excellent, everything you could expect from a high-end hotel. Wonderful room, great bed, with all the facilities (exception of tea making facilities) you could expect and a wonderful marbled spacious bathroom.

Faultless service from the front desk to the concierge, to the room cleaners, breakfast staff and waiters in the restaurant, oh! and not to forget the great bar off of the lobby and the excellent service there.

The manager very kindly supplied a complementary bottle of good french sparkling wine for us on the evening of our wedding anniversary, a very nice touch, which went down well whist sitting in the evening sun on the balcony.

The hotel is perfect situated for those wanting to sight see on foot. You can get everywhere you need to. The was certainly enough to fill four days we stayed. We also bought a 12 euro pass allowing us to visit 5 attractions including the Acropolis, Ancient Agora, Theatre of Dionysos, Keramikos, Temple of Olympian Zeus, and Roman Agora. All walkable from the hotel as was the Panathenaic Stadium, Acropolis museum, National Gardens and of course parliament square and the Evzoni.

Many restaurants nearby too, with the Hotel's own GB Roof top restaurant being a must to try.

Thanks to manager Tim and his team for a great stay,I sure we'll be back...

Room Tip: If you can choose a room with a balcony overlooking the square

We were in Athens in April and chose to stay here for part of the time and it was definitely a good choice. Service is impeccable, meals at the grand Lobby and the rooftop restaurants wonderful, a swim in the pristine indoor pool totally relaxing and sublime. Great location close to the fashionable Kolonaki area for shopping and cafe scene. Highly recommend it.

The hotel lives up to its name. It is not cheap but very much worth it. The service is formal and impeccable befitting the opulence of its grand lobby and first floor dinning lounge. The concierge and other staff are very helpful.
But don't bother with the spa. It's dark and somewhat dingy. What might have been a hot tub was cold and without jets. There is a bare-bones swimming pool. The hotel loses a star for its disappointing spa.

Try to get a room with a view of the Parthenon. Failing that, there is an excellent view of it from the top floor restaurant and bar. The hotel is a short walk to the Plaka section of the city and its many restaurants, shops and historical sites. The hotel is also just a block from the changing of the guard - an impressive display of pageantry. It is also just a short walk from the temple of Zeus in a nicely-done park.
But a block or so deviation from the route to these attractions reveals a sad city of shuttered shops, dirty streets and graffiti.
The hotel touts itself as once housing Winston Churchill. You almost can smell his cigar. A plaque also boasts hosting the Greek Resistance of World War II. There is no mention of the Nazis taking it over in their occupation of the city.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the sixth floor which comes with a concierge and a large patio with a view of the Acropolis.
