“Worth blowing the budget for......”
Reviewed 22 June 2013

The hotel is approx. 30 minutes transfer from the airport located at the junction of 2 main roads going into the city centre. The lobby is large, spacious with modern décor and a luggage collection service. Reception staff were efficient and spoke excellent English. Check in was relatively quick but can take up to 30 - 40 minutes at peak times. The reception area also offers access to shops, hairdresser, conference facilities and the restaurant.

Rooms are accessed via 4 elevators using the room key card. Room (707) was on the back of the hotel and had a view of the street. Rooms on the front, on higher floors of the hotel would have a view of the Parthenon. The room was spacious with a king size bed and plenty of storage / wardrobe space. Satellite TV (some English channels), tea / coffee making equipment, hairdryer, iron & ironing board were all available in the room. There was a mini bar and tray of wine & nibbles that was very expensive (€7.50 for 500ml water). The air conditioning system was good, with easy to use room controls.

The separate bath & double shower cubicle came with complimentary toiletries & bathrobe with slippers. The room had a balcony with a small table & 2 chairs. Free wi-fi is available in public areas but it costs €20 for 24 hours in the room.

For long stays (mine was 11 nights), there was an alternate sweet / savoury snack left in the room each day, which was a nice touch.

Breakfast is served in the Byzantine restaurant with an excellent choice of different types of hot / cold food & drinks. It does get very busy between 7.30 – 8.30am. The roof top bar offers fantastic views across the city, of the Parthenon and Acropolis area. There is a good choice of drinks & snacks but it is expensive.

The pool is located on the lower level and offers free sun loungers & umbrellas. A poolside bar serves drinks & snacks. The hotel spa is also on the same level. Hilton Honors guests get free access; other guests have to pay an entrance fee (€15) plus the cost of any treatments. The spa has an indoor pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and gymnasium.

This hotel is in a great location with easy access to the main historical sites of Athens. I would definitely recommend this hotel for an exceptional stay, great service and staff. Be prepared to blow the budget a bit though......

We are very grateful to Gabi, the concierge, who really helped us out us in an emergency situation. We were desperately looking for assistance for our friend who was admitted to a hospital in Athens. She was able to quickly help us out. We are VERY grateful to her and also to Hilton for having such great people. We knew we could count on Hilton.

Every year we stay at a Hilton Hotel for a four night city break to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This year we picked Athens. Of all the city Hiltons we have stayed at this was definitely the best. We were on the Executive floor and used the Executive lounge. We couldn't fault the bedroom and bathroom, with magnificent views of the Acropolis and the food in the Executive lounge was far superior to other Hilton Hotels we have stayed in. The staff were extremely helpful and very pleasant at all times. We used the Executive lounge for breakfast and, although the breakfast was adequate, a good choice of cereal and lovely fresh fruit, we didn't have the hot food after the first day, as it was cold. We mentioned this to the assistant manager, along with the fact that there was no hot chocolate. Having said that, we had a most delightful stay. Thank you all for a wonderful stay.

Dear Sir/Madame,

Thank you for selecting our hotel as your place of residence while visiting Athens.

With great pleasure we noted that you had an enjoyable stay here and were satisfied with the facilities and service rendered.

Your comment about the cold food at the executive lounge as well as the non availability of hot chocolate has been taken into consideration and discussed with my team in order to prevent something similar from recurring.

Once again, thank you for giving us the opportunity to contribute to a memorable stay!

Look forward to welcoming you back.

I've stayed in this Hilton five times while visiting Athens the last time was April of this year. The room was very comfortable and spacious with fantastic blue lighted bathrooms. Though expensive relative to western standards one feels safe and centrally located for business events and access to the US Embassy, within walking distance of the hotel. Also, the subway is also within walking distance of this hotel. Thought if you're interested in walking about downtown, or going for local food at the Plaka you're a good distance away and would need to take a taxi or subway. Breakfast was included with the room and offers a full choice of food stuff. The staff was also very professional and helpful in directing me to sights. If you're visiting for the first time definitely ask to stay on the Acropolis side of the hotel. Also, even if you're not a drinker, visit the roof top bar at night. It has wonderful night time views of the Acropolis and downtown city lights. A place I'd definitely recommend while staying in Athens.

Room Tip: Definitely request a room on the Acropolis-side of the hotel. Rooms are the same but the views are...

we really enjoyed our stay at Hilton hotel in Athens. we stayed there only for 2 nights (on our way back home) but it was cosy and classy at the same time! the price was a bit higher that the other hotels in Athens but in my opinion it worths the money! We would definately stay there on our next trip to Greece, as we usually use Athens as our base brfore and after visiting the beautiful greek islands!

I thought its hot,32 degrees how bad can the biggest and well advertised swimming pool can be beginning of the season, and I did try to spend a few hours at Athens Hilton pool.
I ordered a bottle of water ,still at 7.50 euro ,a coffee at 7.50 or dirty water as they use the cheapest quality these days, plus a cold toast with plastic chips and soggy salad at 12.00 euro.
Still waiting kindly for the manager to answer my last years comment,me and another 10 people that I know,so start queuing for Hilton's pool, one waiter is waiting to serve you and enjoying the enormous prices that are written on the blackboard, tuna at 27 euros, spaghetti at 17.00.
Bon appetite
