This hotel dates back tothe 1970's (I would guess) but has been beautifully restored. Instead of feeling dated, it is now hip and retro done in a white, minimalist style. There is a beautiful bar on the roof with a distant view of the Acropolis. My room was reasonably sized with two twin beds pushed together to make "king bed." The hotel is centrally located but away from the government buidlings at the square where many of the political protests occur.
There were some quirks however. First, for some reason I was automatically assigned a smoking room! This I did not realize until I was already in my room so I had to call down and request another room. I am not sure whether this is standard check-in procedure or not.
Secondly, once in my room I ordered room service. Being in Greece, I was expecting some local cuisine but it was a distinctly American menu of burgers, pizza, and spaghetti. I asked the hotel staff who answered the dedicated line for room service and asked if there was any Greek food they could prepare. He hesitated and then said that there was a Greek pizza on the menu!More
