“Perfect start to our honeymoon”
Reviewed 11 June 2009

We booked last minute at a reduced rate, but on arrival, we told the receptionist it was our honeymoon and he upgraded us to a lovely Junior Suite. Having arrived in the room, a bottle of champagne was sent up for us. We checked in at 11p.m. and although the rooftop restaurant was empty, the waiting staff welcomed us and seated us at a table with a magnificent view of the Acropolis and Athens. The meal was excellent and the service was friendly. The hotel was very accommodating on our two night stay and the roof-top pool is a treat as is the free internet in the comfortable lounge downstairs. The location is great as well, just a short walk from Syntagma Square.

My mother and I stayed for 4 nights in St. George Lycabettus hotel while visiting Athens for sightseeing and relaxation. The staff was helpful in guiding us where to find what (museums, restaurants, public transportation routes etc.) and very tidy concerning our room cleanliness. The Spa treatments were extra relaxing and the views from Lycabettus hill made it all worth more.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and Wow, the views were out of this world. The restaurant on the 6th floor was wonderful, The Frame resturant and bar was fabulous, the area is the best in Athens. Be sure to reserve a room with the panoramic views, you wont be disappointed!

My husband and I stayed here for one night and we were not at all pleased with our choice. We can't believe that Tablet Hotels includes the St. George in their Athens listings! Our room was ugly and seemed dirty. The decor was atrocious and there was a terrible smell (like very strong, cheap perfume) in the room and in the hallway. The check in staff were as charmless as possible. Even the rooftop pool was depressing! We love Greece but felt that this hotel would give visitors the worst possible impression of the country, Athens, and the Greeks. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Grande Bretagne (almost perfect) or the Hilton. Avoid this hotel. I am including three photos - the freaky painting of blood on rocks, the rusty weights and "fun" stripy scale under the bathroom sink (why?!), and the very odd contraption in the shower for multi-faceted water fun! We were so happy to leave this hotel and feel so sorry for all the hapless travellers who end up there.

The hotel was spotless, the breakfast was wonderful (a buffet of hot and cold food, fruit, an assortment of breads, etc.). The bathroom was fantastic - modern and spacious, but the room was so small we literally had no place to put our suitcases except in places where we had to climb over them to get around the room. Staff was generally helpful, yet they did stereotype - when an older couple asked for restaurant recommendations, they were directed to restaurants that required reservations. When we (in our late 30s) asked, they directed us to tabernas and warned us that restaurants were expensive...

The neighborhood was nice and quiet and the roof-top area was relaxing. You really can't beat the view for breakfast.

We were three girl friends staying at the st.George this April and everthing would have been perfect except for the fact that they charged us a ridiculous 6 Euros for picking up the phone twice during our stay. That is more than 10.00 Canadian dollars for calls that didn't get through.I had asked the front desk if they could call to confirm our morning airport transfer and she suggested we could just call the number from our room. I know all hotels charge something, but 3 Euros per call, and I never even got to speak to anyone, not even an answering machine. She could have at least advised me of how much it would cost regardless of whether or not I got through to someone.
It's not very smart on their part because frankly we had enjoyed everything about the hotel, staff, room, location, breakfast, excellent view of the parthenon, and then on check-out they let you leave with this bad taste in your mouth. Not so smart and customer friendly.

This is a stylish, cosy hotel located in one of the most beautiful areas of Athens.I particularly enjoyed the fun walking tours all around the Kolonaki and Lycabettus Hill area. Great breakfast each morning !

My room was cosy but on the smaller size something that was of no surprise to me as this is the case with all European Hotel rooms. Try to book the Acropolis view room, amazing views of the city and the Parthenon.

In general my stay was very comfortable with the exception of the taxis witn Athens which can be difficult. I found concierge very helpful with arranging a taxi for me both times I needed one.
