Firstly: Don't miss the Art Lounge on the 7th floor with amazing views over Athens. Contrary to many other hotel restaurants, the Art Lounge is also serving excellent food with a friendly and relaxed service. We had only planned to have drinks there, but ended up staying for a very memorable dinner overlooking the night skyline of Athens on a perfect summers night.
The hotel: Our overall impression was very positive. The hotel has a friendly and efficient staff and our room was very quiet (facing backside). We really liked the contemporary design of the public areas. Breakfast was above average good.
The room: We stayed in a Junior Suite facing the backside. These rooms are very quite and if you are a light sleeper like me, I would recommend to request a room towards the backside. We both had a very good nights sleep. Our room had a glassed in toilet in the bedroom and this is a unpractical design detail that I don't personally appreciate.

Room Tip: Backside facing rooms are very quiet.

Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of our Turkey/Greece trip. Walked in without reservations. Rooms were very nice, service was excellent. We discovered upon arrival that my husband had just been pick-pocketed on the metro and lost his passport. The staff was very helpful during our 3 day ordeal to get a replacement. Breakfasts are ample. Location of hotel at first appears a little sketchy as there are not a lot of restaurants in the block the hotel is on. But the Plaka and historic district is literally just around the corner. Hotel is pricey but the amenities are nice at the end of a long trip. Taxi to airport from the hotel is about 38 euros.

My fiancé and I travel a lot and we're pretty tough critics and I have to say this hotel does everything right. We LOVED IT.

Firstly, the hotel itself is like a work of art--it's so well-decorated it was lovely just to wander around. The welcome water and sweets were a nice touch and we liked that they were situated by the front door so we could help ourselves as we came and went.

Our room was 'evil eye' themed and a seamless extension of the decor from the public areas. The lighting options were beautiful and we loved the glowing eyes on the wall--what a lovely touch!

When we arrived, there was a platter of chocolate covered strawberries, dried fruit and nuts with a handwritten card from the guest relations manager wishing us well for our engagement. This was a great touch and it made us instantly feel special and valued.

The housekeeping service was outstanding. I think her name was Georgia. She kept our room clean and tidy and pulled down the blackout shades for us at night and left truffles in gold boxes on our bed. She also left us a bathmat when it looked like we were struggling with getting water on the floor from the shower (which is awesome by the way and I loved the toiletries). A random aside...The bed was really comfortable with soft sheets.

The doorman were also lovely and would run to the door so you wouldn't have to open it yourself.

We didn't eat at the hotel because it was expensive and there were so many local restaurant options (go to Melilitos), but the restaurant was gorgeous with a view of the acropolis.

The hotel was easy to get to from the airport (took the blue train to Syntagma square--ask for a return or dual ticket if you're in a couple going one way because it's cheaper) and it was perfectly located for our visit. We were able to walk to all the sites and museums.

Thank you for the wonderful stay!

We stayed in this hotel for one night on the way to Mykonos and Santorini. Location is faultless being about 200m from the bustling Plaka and Syntegma Square and within close proximity of the Acropolis and all the historic sites. Like many boutique hotels, the New Hotel seem to attract the young trendy crowd looking for something different. We didn't necessary fall into that category. All we wanted was a decent room in a conveniently located hotel with reasonable service.

Our small room faced a block of apartments whose residents had full view of our room as we had of theirs. Only two sets of blinds kept our privacy and modesty in tact. The room fittings were more ornamental than functional. It took us nearly a whole day to work out how to really use the shower and we simply gave up on the modern-looking flimsy telephone. The hotel is decked out to look original and quirky - some of it worked (eg the row of potted cacti in the entrance) but many of the features and art work was either over the top or seemed out of place. I think investment in quality fittings and furniture would have been money better spent.

That said, most of the staff were friendly and helpful. We opted not to have breakfast in the hotel. We ended up having a delicious Greek brekkie in one the many nearby cafés for less than half the cost with real people. We went for an early morning walk around the National Park and saw a couple of hotels in the area which we thought wouldn't been more ideal for us. And after our two day stay in a simple but good hotel in Mykonos, I'm more convinced that we could've chosen a better hotel in Athens.

Just stayed one night, but really nicely decorated big adjoining rooms with electric block-out blinds.

Walking distance to the Parthenon/Acropolis and just round the corner from the Kidathineon street of restaurants and shops.

We stayed two nights at the new hotel on either side of a trip around the Peloponnese. We had one night in a junior suite and one night in a superior plus room. Both rooms were lovely and clean and we'll appointed with a quirky modern touch. The junior suite had a nice little living area with a couch and a chair, covered in softly folded faux fur that my cat would have loved! There are amazing blackout blinds that give an almost pitch black room, if that is what you like!
The hotel was conveniently located and the rooftop bar has a view of the acropolis.
The hotel employees were fabulous and remembered us when we returned even though we had only been there one night. They were also very helpful in attempting to sort out a booking disaster with a car hire company!
Breakfast was excellent but expensive if not included.
There is a small gym which was great for a short workout and a two computers and a printer in the business centre.
We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends.

Room Tip: The junior suite was at the back of the hotel and was blissfully quiet. The superior room was at the...
