Best Western Pythagorion Hotel

Stayed as couple for couple of nights. The hotel is located at a very good location and also outside appearance is not quiet that great but inside it is good. The hotel is good, good breakfast and WIFI in the rooms.
The staff is quiet helpful and they arranged the Taxi for me in the morning for catching the ferry for Athens port. The location of hotel is good central to all the attractions, the hop on hop off bus route is straight off the street. I read the reviews regarding the area can be bit rough in the evenings but we didn't encounter anything as such.
I would say its good value for money hotel.

I stayed here for 7 nights. Very clean and very helpful staff, good breakfast, and very close to everywhere, I walk to all the attractions and come back late at night, no problems and felt safe at night time when I was walking back to the hotel.

The hotel is good. Helpful staff, clean rooms and wifi included. We overslept and missed breakfast (until 10) but it looked ok from the outside :)
Only drawback was that the area (which is central with walking distance to e.g. Plaka etc) is a bit rough at evenings. This is probably why the hotel is so cheap, compared to for example President Hotel. If you're the nervous type then you will probably feel more comfortable grabbing a taxi after 10 pm . Taxis are cheap in Athens.

Room Tip: Room to the street was nice and clean but the street has quite a bit of traffic

I enjoyed this hotel very much-simple-modern and good location-I like that bathrooms and room service was very good-I had everything I needed and enjoyed sleeping here. The Terrace is also an added bonus for the fresh air and a good place to sit and think about the long trip back home.

Room Tip: A great place to stay on the way home from Athens.

This is a perfectly nice hotel, and almost rates a very good. The rooms are fine, the same as any Best Western anywhere.

The staff was very helpful, even calling about a pre-booked (so the hotel didn't get any commission) tour that was iffy due to lack of business (and was ultimately cancelled.)

The location is within easy walking distance - under half an hour - of the acropolis, and is closer to the Archaeological museum.

There is no hotel restaurant, other than for breakfast (decent variety, perfectly fine), and the only nearby restaurant not part of another hotel is Alexander the Great, which is a fine restaurant, but for variety you need to walk down to the vicinity of the Acropolis.

We arrived at this hotel at night in the middle of a thunder storm.

It is not in a very nice area and as two ladies we didn't really want to walk around at night or in the middle of a storm but the hotel doesnt have a restaurant so we weren't able to eat at all. There is also no bar so we couldn't get a drink. There is no where to work so we had to go straight to the airport after our meeting which was unpleasant. There is no wi-fi in the rooms.

Having said that the rooms are large and clean and the staff very helpful. I just wouldn't recommend it for business.

I cannot fault the staff at this Hotel, they are simply amazing. We arrived in Athens after a few delays due to air traffic control strikes, which while we were in the air became a full blown strike and no public transport was operating in Athens. We were unable to get from city centre to out hotel, so after ringing the hotel they sent a private taxi to collect us.

The room was clean, and comfortable, with free wi-fi access, a definite plus these days.

The location of the hotel is pretty good, just a short walk from Omonia station, which is a pick up point for the city bus tours, which is also well worth doing. While we agree that Omonia is a more gritty area, we did not at any point of our stay feel unsafe walking back at night.

Overall a good little hotel in a beautiful city
