We stopped in Athens for a night before catching a ferry to the Greek Isles. The Athens Gate was the perfect choice. Since it was a very short walk to the Acropolis, we were able to explore the whole historic area and eat dinner at a cute cafe all before it even turned dark.
When we arrived at the hotel, the staff was courteous and provided us with some treats upon checking in. Our room was very spacious, clean and contemporary looking.
My only complaint was that the upstairs restaurant didn't serve dessert later, but we still were able to get a drink and look at the beautiful view.
