Located very well, good quality, but in the evening really crowdy in the lobby.... Why? Because that is the only place with free wifi. To enjoy it in the room you need to pay 16€ a day!!!!
If I pay 160€ a night for a **** hotel without a swiming pool, I'm disappointed.

We stayed 2 nights in the Athens Gate Hotel in July. The rooms were very clean and fairly comfortable though a little small. The balcony was a nice touch. The rooms did have safes which were convenient. The breakfasts were included and had a good assortment of items to satisfy any sized appetite. The rooftop restaurant has an awesome view of the Parthenon and is a lovely way to start the day. The desk staff was helpful in navigating the city and suggesting areas to find restaurants. It would be nice to have free wifi in the rooms though it was available on the roof or in the lobby. The location was very convenient to everything we wanted to do.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have better views.

This is a really nice hotel, and the price for the rooms reflect it. Everything was top notch, although Idid expect the rooms to be a bitbigger as the bill was pretty big. The restaurant on the top floor is ideally located, you have an amazing view , eepsecially breakfast was a delight up there.

Evertything lese is what you expect from a 4 star hotel. Excellet breakfast, everything works, a delight.

Room Tip: Go for one of the top floors for an amazing view.

The place is very nicely renovated and the service is great. We also had an amazing view of the parthenon from our room. The rooms are spacious and for the money it was a great value.

The rooftop restaurant is also very nice with amazing views and the free breakfast is great. Overall a very nice hotel in a good location.

Stayed there in mid June and enjoyed our stay. Professional reception staff that were helpful even offering cold water drinks on our arrival. Room 602 which was nicely fitted out with balcony and good air conditioning. Comfy bed and nice bathroom with good facilities.
Roof top restaurant has a great view of the Acropolis and because the outside area is wrap around if there is any wind you can always find a good spot. Very much enjoyed our late afternoon drinks on the roof terrace where the service was excellent (nice that staff remember your preferences the next night). We also ate in the restaurant one night which was very nice.
Breakfast is also in the roof top restaurant and you can eat inside or out (both have views). A very nice range of hot, cold, pastries, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, cheeses etc including some local delicacies. (One of the best we had on our European trip). Staff in the morning also excellent.
The location is excellent very near the old town and within easy walking distance to the Acropolis and Parthenon museum.
The only downside for us was that the hotel is sited on a very busy road and with all the cars and noisy motorbikes zooming around the streets in the morning we were woken earlier than preferred. But if you are early risers and want to get out to the sights early this might suit or ask for a room on the back of the hotel.

Room Tip: Back for quiet rooms front for great view of Temple of Zeus

Hotel is 5 min walk from Acropolis and the new Acropolis Museum, and across the street from Hadrian's Arch/Temple of Zeus. They also provide breakfast with amazing views of the Acropolis, go early to catch the fantastic sunrise views. However, service during breakfast can be a little curt, or surly even. Hotel was refurbished less than ten years ago but is actually an old building. Hence, rooms are small and the elevator is tiny.

Room Tip: Ask for and upgrade to room on higher level, those on lower levels facing the Temple of Zeus will ha...

We just spent 3 nights at the end of July at the Athens Gate hôtel and had a great time.

Everyone said it is well located and it is very true. You are in walking distance from everything, the Acropolis that we could see from our room, with a small upgrade fee of 25 Euros per night, to Plaka where all restaurants are located, just in front of Zeus Palace....

The room was small but had everything, a safe, a small refrigerator, air conditioning, comfortable bed.

We liked the service. We asked for an extra bed late at night and extra coversheets and we got it right away.

Breakfast was inclused with the room and available from the restaurant on the roof which has a wonderful view on the Acropolis.

What we didńt like:
- Having to pay for Internet to get acces from our room. Free Internet is only available from the lobby or from the restaurant on the roof.
- Room keys always needed to be change, sometimes twice in a day.

I would return.

Room Tip: Take the upgrade, it is worth it to have a view on the Acropolis. Also take advantage of the bus to...
