The hotel is located in an area that looks residential. It's quiet and close to Acropolis and the Plaka. The lobby/bar area is modern and clean, the breakfast included in the price was very ample and good. Our room & bathroom were clean and comfortable; I remember the bed sheets being crisp, clean and very comfortable. The roof-top garden was comfortable with tables and chairs and the views were spectacular especially at night. Everyone at the front desk were friendly and helpful. We stayed 1 night on August 29 and again 1 night on Sept. 13, we paid about 40 Euro more for the Sept. stay (??). We took a taxi there from the airport and when we met others at the hotel that said they took the subway for 3 Euro each we tried it at the end of our trip...very easy, the subway is very close to the hotel; I would recommend if you have managable luggage. What I hated about this hotel is that I felt I was always being nickel & dimed. They charge 1 Euro per day for the safe, 5 Euro to use the roof-top hot tub for 15 minutes, we had 1 small soap in the bathroom. I would probably stay there again if I return to Athens mostly because I like the location. Their website pictures and information is pretty accurate.

We stayed in this Hotel for our arrival and departure for our Honeymoon in Sept/Oct 2007. The larger than king beds were huge and the most comfortable we had in all of Greece.
We had Acropolis view rooms both times and it was amazing to look at in the day/night. The rooms were also very clean. The staff was nice and helpful as well with our tourist questions. There is a hot tub on the roof, but it costs a few euros to use......but also plenty of free deck chairs on the roof to look at the Acropolis, we got a bottle of wine from one of the near by stores and drank it there. There are a few computers with internet access in the lobby, but the speeds are no better than slow DSL, dont even bother trying to upload pictures to friends, you'll run out of time before you're able to do so.
The breakfast was also decent in the mornings, buffet style, eggs, bacon (not cooked how us Americans like it) sausage, french toast, yogurt, olives, OJ, etc.
They had a small bar/restaurant as well, food was actually ok, not bad.

The location is the best part of this place, its a 10 min walk to the plaka, and 5/10 min to the Acropolis. You cant loose with location, we didnt have to worry about cabs or transportation, we walked it all. We think we were able to see all of Athens that we wanted to see in 1.5 days. The plaka was pretty much most of it and the Acropolis a good half day........the city is as most say...dirty, graffiti infested. Go to the Zeus temple too, its on the way to the Plaka.

the one downside was all the construction going on nearby at the new museum, but i think that should be completed by now. we were able to shut our door and block out the noise if it bothered us. The walls arent the thickest, but I was able to get some shut eye and I'm a fairly light sleeper.

I've got many pictures of the room to post later.

The hotel has a good location 5 mins walk from the Acropolis, Parthenon and all major Ancient sights. The hotel staff on reception are friendly, helpful as are room cleaners, bar staff too.

Rooms spotlessly clean and comfortable. I stayed in Room 214 that had a window overlooking an inner courtyard but some rooms have views of the Parthenon. Very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom too.

Ample American breakfast with cooked bacon, eggs if you wished again in super clean restruant.

Bar a bit pricy but there are some good cafe's just down the road and restraunts too.

Easy access to Athens Metro again bottom of road turn left your there.

I will use this hotel again its the best one I have stayed at in Athens. They also for a small charge have jacuzis on the roof and sunbeds too great for the summer heat to cool off.

This is a great hotel but be warned at Athens Aiport there is a gang of Albianian guys quite large who are targetting hoilday makers in queues for Taxi's and buses they will jostle you about say sorry and make off with your wallet, passport and money it happend to me not pleasant to say the least so be warned

What a huge, huge, enormous dissappointment. We arrived from Mykonos. And after seeing the island we were so dissappointed. Mind you I already braced myself that we were coming from a majestic island to a busy, noisey city...but the city was just filled with dirty streets and graffiti everywhere...and then to arrive at a hotel that was stuck in the 60s was just the ultimate letdown. The hotel needs a major makeover. The whole hotel is carpeted which gives it that musty old smell, the rooms smell the same, by far the most lumpiest bed i ever felt in my life, the bedding was sooo old i hardly wanted to cover myself with them. Just old, old, old. Maybe this was a 4 star standard on an Athenian scale but as far as i was concerned it was not my style at all. If you can pay more for a truly luxury hotel then do it, because after long days in a busy, unattractive city (aside from the Acropolis) you want to come home to a retreat and sactuary not this Brady Bunch era hotel. Even the staff seemed to be bothered by you, so not like the staff on the hotels on the Greek island (with the exception of the young man Chris with was sweet and helpful). Sorry Herodian but you need to step up your game if you want to have people come back. If it wasn't for the opportunity to see the Acropolis i would have totaly eliminated this stop on my trip.

We recently stayed at this hotel for four nights. Travelling with two children, we needed to get two rooms. The hotel is in a perfect location, can walk to most of the sites in Athens including the Acropolis and Plaka, beautiful view of the Acropolis. Rooms were small, but clean and recently renovated. Breakfast was the best of the 7 hotels we stayed at in Greece. However, the air conditioning barely worked, and the front desk staff varied from indifferent to downright hostile to Americans (of which there are many). Having spent over 1,000. euros we thought it was obscene that they wanted to charge us 1 euro a day to use the in-room safe, and 5 euros for 15 minutes in their jacuzzi. When my husband questioned this the manager went on a tirade about how "your Mr. Bush" has devalued the dollar ......

Like I said, the hotel has great potential, but next time I will look for something better and more hospitable.

First Class Hotel, with beautiful room and clean ensuite. Ask for a balcony room when booking. There are some rooms that look into an internal courtyard. Hotel is located at base of Acropolis and 10 minute walk from Plaka restaurant and shopping area, about 20 minute walk from Syntagma Square (central square).

Balcony rooms face directly to Acropolis. Breakfast room street-side was extraordinary - great selection to please every taste. Service from reception desk was excellent. Good bar/snack lounge area. Restaurants very handy.

We stayed 3 nights at this little gem of hotel a stone's throw from the Acropolis. It is located across the street from the new, just completed Acropolis Museum. The room is small but very clean. It has a mini bar and flat panel TV and a balcony overlooking the street. The location couldn't have been better. It is just under the foothills of Acropolis. One could walk up there in a few minutes. It has an airy rooftop garden, and one could get a good view of the Parthenon. The hotel breakfast is good and the little family-owned restaurant next door serves up very good traditional Greek cuisines. Also, don't forget to order a glass of ouzo, the national drink of Greece, to go with your meal. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was courteous and the service good. It is within walking distance of all the attractions of the Acropolis and the Plaka, and when the New Acropolis Museum opens in the near future, you just can't find a nicer, more convenient place to stay.
