I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in April 2008 before flying on to Corfu for Greek Easter and I could not fault it - I had a super room with a view of the Parthenon, the welcome was typically Greek - warm and smiling.
The reception staff fell over themselves to be charming and helpful and they couldn't do enough to help. The let me check in early after 2 long flights via England from Portugal.
The room was cosy and even had a pillow menu for those with a preference for soft and fluffy or hard!!
Breakfasts more than adequate, lunch in the Atrium restaurant was lovely and again bar and waiting staff smiling and helpful offering sightseeing tips etc,
The location has to be one of the best in Athens, close to everything but peacful and calm.
I shall be returning again in May for a short stay before a Greek Oddysey around the Cycladic Islands on a charter boat and this time I shall return with my sister in law and a friend who is travelling from USA.
Despite what some travellers have written I am sure they were not staying in the same hotel... some people are just never happy!
Keep up the good work Herodion and hang on to your staff - it's not only in the archaeological museum you will find Greek treasures - many of them work in the Herodion! I so look forward to coming back...
