Visited this hotel for 4 nights.
Pros: Very good location, good breakfast, good service.
Cons: small rooms, walls are thin so you could hear other people in other rooms.
Overall nice hotel, we would recommend it.

To have earned your recommendation is very important. Thank you for your comments and for praising our efforts; yet on the matter of our rooms being noisy, PHILIPPOS Hotel when being last renovated applied in detail the specifications of the study carried out by the acoustic specialist and expert Dr.G.Schubert providing for soundproofing per room of less than 50 db. Therefore I believe that it must have been an unfortunate coincidence and even if it is out of our reach, we would nonetheless wish to apologize.

The Philippos is ideally located for exploring the sites and shopping in the Plaka or Monistriki areas. The metro station is also close. They have recently done some remodeling and the décor is beautiful. Some of the rooms are on the small side, but all I need a room for is sleeping! The breakfast was excellent. The staff is what makes the hotel really special, though. Spiros, Dimosthenis, and Anni provide excellent service. If you are looking for value in addition to location, this is a great choice.

This hotel was wonderful. It is clean, and in the best location. The breakfast was excellent and the staff are long time employees that treat one another as family. We went back again as we had a choice and love the place.

Room Tip: well the rooms are large if you want twin beds but small if you want a queen.

One of the best romantic hotels I have ever been to. Wonderful building, great interiors, elegant decors and well-equipped rooms. The Hotel offers a wonderful view of the Acropolis museum and is just a few minutes’ walk. The Acropolis Metro stop is very near too, which is great in case one needs to travel around the city. The ambience within the Hotel is very romantic. The staff offered a wide range of complimentary goodies starting from free champagne to chocolates. They also offered a free drop to the airport. Rooms were perfect and so were the bathrooms. The food was moderately fine though we did not have too many square meals at the Hotel. The front desk was very helpful and helped us with a local tourist guide at some very competitive rates.

My family and I stayed at Philippos Hotel in mid August. It is located in a very convenient location of Athens that is very close to the main attractions with all the main ones in walking distance. The staff members were very friendly and so helpful recommending all the best places for us to go. The rooms were clean yet perhaps a little out of date (the TV etc could do with an update, yet Athens is such a beautiful city with so much to see and do that you really don’t need the TV). The breakfast bar they had was EXCELLENT and we ate plenty! The price to stay here was most reasonable and we will gladly stay here again when we return in 2015.

The English speaking staff is very responsive. When I had an early flight they provided an early breakfast. Also, I had brought to Greece more than I wanted to carry along to Delphi and Naxos and they kindly stored a duffel for me for a week. I stayed two nights at the beginning of my trip and another at the end. The second floor room at the back of the hotel had a view of the Parthenon. It is an easy walk to the Acropolis, Plaka and a bit further to the Botanical Gardens which are an oasis of green within a busy city. Standard cold breakfast but with hard-boiled eggs, good bread, coffee and fruit. Spacious breakfast room looking out on a charming street. Adequate shower. Moderate price. Would stay again.

Room Tip: Upper floor rooms at the back have Acropolis view.

The Philippos Hotel has a great location, with all of the major tourist attractions within a 20 minute walk. Acropolis and Plaka are less than a 10 minute walk away. The staff at the hotel are very helpful and polite. Breakfast is included, and is quite good with an excellent choice but most dishes are repeated. The hotel is located in a very quiet, safe street, and there is a supermarket nearby. The rooms and toilets aren't massive, but are more than adequate. WiFi is available, for a small fee. The metro is very close to the hotel, so you can get around Athens in a tick! If we were ever to go back to Athens, then we would definitely stay here again!`
