“Very Peaceful”
Reviewed 12 March 2014

Nicely appointed hotel right in the middle of all the tourist attractions. Very quiet, clean and attractive. The breakfast was outstanding! Our room had a view of the Acropolis between two buildings which was lit up at night -- we also had a balcony. I felt like we were staying in a post card. I would definitely stay at this hotel on my next visit.

Room Tip: Ask if you can have the room with the view of the acropolis -- it also has a nice balcony.

My wife and I travel to Athens frequently and have tried multiple hotels. Some are perfect for a travel connection and some are better when requiring proximity to health care options. However, when selecting a centrally located, clean, comfortable. affordable hotel with an excellent breakfast on a quiet side street, the Philippos is your choice. A short walk to the Plaka, the Parthenon museum, the metro, local eateries - it's all here. Having stayed here once, it will the the only one we choose in the future. As an added bonus is Maria at reception - warm, friendly, helpful, funny, and a beautiful smile. Employers take note: Hire away Maria and business will immediately increase. Stay here and you'll want to send me a thank you note.

Room Tip: Ask about a room with a view of the Parthenon - quite the sight after dark.

Thank you for taking time to share the impressions of your stay and for your recommendation. Truly enough comments are always precious and important, yet there are of a somewhat different value when coming from visitors that know the city rather well. We are honoured! As for Maria, thank you for noticing her ‘involvement with a smile’; one of our values is hospitality, and we are well aware that she together with her colleagues give PHILIPPOS an added value!

The rooms are small, but that did not bother me. Athens is the cradle of Western Civilization and there are many things to see. Location of the Philippos Hotel is perfect. It is walking distance to many major sights. Hotel reception was very helpful in giving suggestions on sightseeing. Breakfast had plenty of items offered to start the day off right. Housekeeping does a great job of keeping the property spotless. Bed was comfortable and my room was quiet.

This was a trip to Athens for the football and to see the sights. The hotel was ideally situated just a short distance from the Metro and the Acropolis. All the staff, including the cleaning lady were very helpful and friendly and always had a smile on their face. The new young receptionist Maria was excellent and considering she had only just started working there her local knowledge was very good. We could not fault anything at the hotel. We would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking at a reasonably priced venue.

My wife and stayed at Philippos for 4 nights on our recent visit to Athens. It is ideally located a short walk to the Acropolis Museum and the Acropolis entrance. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms, clean and well outfitted. They do not have an on-site restaurant, but the complimentary breakfast was of good quality. We had a very pleasant stay while enjoying the majestic city of Athens and its history. For excellent value, great location, and good service: stay at Philippos.

We are proud to have earned your recommendation, thank you! We surely hope to welcome you again in the future, and when doing so we will urge you to visit the ATRIUM restaurant of our sister property hotel, just a block away. There you will enjoy Greek/ Mediterranean cuisine with a ‘twist’ under the Attica blue sky, home made delicacies and well chosen Greek wines. See you soon!

This is the third time i am staying in this wonderfull hotel while i am in Athens.
Very peacefull place situated near Akropolis muesium. From hotel Philipos all the kommunication takes about 5 minutes to reach, buss, underground, taxi you name it.
Staff are very kind polit and helpfull.
Big rooms with all the facilities. Breakfast is frech and they have all you need for a good start. The best of all is very quite. Wifi is free of charge. I feel safe and happy. I would like to range this hotel to 5 stars because of the quality.
I feel that i am us a family member not is a customer.

Dear Georgios M

Your feeling of being family member and not customer, is well justified. The honour is all ours and we thank you for very much for that. Returning guests, such as you and family, only make us feel honoured and even more responsible for the quality of service to be offered. We wish you and your family a happy and fruitful stay in town, with us!

Really friendly staff, very clean and tidy room and amazing breakfast. The only issue is that we had to pay to have internet conection (3 euros for an hour and 5 euros for 24 hours). Anyway, every place we found around (coffee shops, restaurants etc) had free WIFI.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms with Akropoli's views (Just amazing for a romantic trip)
