“Very good for everything!”
Reviewed 12 June 2014

Have just arrived in Santorini having spent 4 nights in Athens. The Electra Palace is a very good hotel in the Plaka area the old part of the city, close to the sites like Temple of Zeus, National gardens and not far from the acropolis. Our communication in the run up to our stay were very good and it continued into our holiday. We went for the standard double and found it very good for our needs, good size room with dresser and seating area, and the bathroom a good size with nice shower. The breakfasts were of a good standard with everything you need to start your day. The lovely parts are the roof top restaurant, bar and pool area, all which have nice views across Plaka and the Acropolis. We had dinner twice at the roof top and both times the service and food were of a very good standard. Of course the views at night of the city are an added bonus. I would recommend the Hotel due to location and the service.
As for Athens we found the people very friendly and going into shops you were always welcome but they were never pushy. The city transport system is very good, the underground very clean and we felt safe were ever we went. Taxis are numerous and I think all yellow takes are equipped with metres but if in doubt arrange the price before using. We used some taxis via the front desk at the hotel but you pay for the convenience so we would recommend seeking one yourself.

This hotel has it all - the location is fantastic with Syntagma Square within walking distance, large rooms with comfortable beds and good in-room facilities, stunning view of the Acropolis from the Junior Suite balcony, nice jacuzzi pool and spa at the basement, wonderful breakfast spread and polite and efficient service. Will stay again.

Room Tip: Splurge on the Junior Suite ........ the balcony and the Acropolis view are definitely worth it.

My wife and I stayed here on the first night of our honeymoon like so many other guests in the past I'm sure. Getting there was an adventure and our cabby had a hard time finding it. We were a little concerned because this area of Athens has some shady alleyways you don't want to get caught in, but once we found the hotel we were relieved. Very nice lobby and extremely helpful staff. We had a drink on the hotel rooftop bar and it is amazing. They were done serving food by then so I can't comment on that. Room was very nice, if simple, and the bed was comfortable! The location is perfect, very easy to walk to the shopping district and we found a great restaurant nearby the next day for lunch. Our tour group had no problem finding the hotel, and the hotel staff was more than accommodating in every aspect.

This hotel is very conveniently located next to Plaka, so it was easy for our family with three kids to walk around, shop and look for restaurants nearby. Syntagma Square is a block away, and the Acropolis was an easy walking distance with lots of interesting shops and restaurants along the way. Our room did not have a view of the Acropolis but the rooftop pool and restaurant had a spectacular view. The breakfast was wonderful and my girls loved to eat on one of the tables overlooking the charming garden. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

When ever I can get a room here, I do. The beds are the most comfortable in Athens for starters. The hotel has a stunning view of the Acropolis from its rooftop restaurant and pool, and their breakfast buffet can not be beat. Worth the price.

We stayed at the Electra Palace Hotel in Athens for 5 nights and it was great from the moment we arrived. The hotel is lovely and the staff very helpful. The location was fantastic! Shops an restaurants around the corner, and you could walk to some of the sites with ease (although recommend as early morning start before the sun is blazing).

We had a great room with view of the Acropolis. No balcony buy lying in your bed at night and looking out on the Acropolis was wonderful.

I can't recommend the hotel restaurant enough! The service and food were simply great. One of the best meals we had in Athens.... oh and the Acropolis views aren't bad!

The staff were really helpful with airport transfers and arranging private tours.

In short ... we would go back!

Room Tip: Balcony rooms are okay but on the small size. Think about how much you will use before spending the...
