“Excellent introduction to Greece”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

Excellent introduction to Greece. Arrived at 9.30 am, we were told our room would be ready in half an hour, went and had coffee and croissants in the breakfast area and told these where complementary! The room was small but cosy with a glimpse of the Acropolis, which was a bonus as I book a no view room. Super comfy bed. Rooms a little noisy at night. Roof top pool, with Acropolis views, was the perfect place to cool off after a hot day of sight seeing. Perfectly located in the Plaka, walking distance to everything we wanted to see.

This was our last stop on our Honeymoon... We were so excited to be in Athens and this hotel was beautiful. We had a suite overlooking the Acropolis it was amazing. The location was perfect because we were able to walk to the Plaka and amazing restaurants were all around. We never ate at the hotel (we were only there for a couple of nights) but we did have drinks at the roof bar. The drinks were amazing, I had the electra martini, i'm so bummed I didn't get that recipe before leaving! We will definitely be going back to Athens and would stay at the Electra Palace again!

Room Tip: Acropolis view is insane!

I found the front desk staff to be very friendly and quite accommodating. The rooms, bathrooms and all facilities were very clean. Everyone we encountered was helpful and friendly except for a fill in bartender on the roof top pool who was plainly rude and impatient with my children. I write him off as an exception to the rule, however, as everyone else was wonderful. The rooftop pool was simply picture postcard beautiful. The location so close to the Plaka for walking around and shopping was perfect. If we ever come back to Athens I can't imagine staying anywhere else. I loved it!

We have stayed at the Electra Palace on five times since 2001. It is a superb hotel, located close to the areas we want to visit, has phenomenal breakfasts, great swimming pools, one heck of a dinning room, serves great Pina Coladas, and best of all I found each member of the staff having knowledge to answer my questions. The staff also was available to assist us when we encountered special problems. Having a garage in the heart of Athens is greatly appreciated

This is my idea of Athens. Located on a narrow street in the Plaka area of Athens, a wonderful view of the Acropolis, classical furnishings in the rooms. Magic. The rooftop restaurant offered a sensational menu and and even more sensational view of the Acropolis by night. Walking distance to Syntagma Square, Monastiraki Square, and only 15 minutes walk to the Acropolis. The only issue is that the rooms facing the street get some noise from passing motor bikes.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that doesn't face Nicodimou Street. Not a major problem but some light sleepers...

This is ranked as a five star hotel, and certainly its location and the lovely rooftop pool with a view of the Acropolis can't be beat. The rooms are small and very comfortable. The rooftop restaurant has delicious food and great service. A few things dropped this hotel out of the "excellent" category for me: first, I can't believe that a hotel of this caliber does not have free wifi. The service in the downstairs restaurant (in the evening, not at breakfast) was terrible, and the desk service ranged from good to impatient or surly. Overall, though, this is a comfortable and very convenient hotel, and I'd almost recommend it just for the pool.

With a swimming pool on the roof under the heat of the Athens sun with a view of the Acropolis, this hotel is hard to beat. Perfect location for walking to restaurants in the Plaka. Breakfast is good. Reception staff knowledgeable and friendly
