“Great location in Athens”
Reviewed 18 July 2014 via mobile

Great location in Athens. Rooms are comfortable & clean. Walking distance to all the major sites, amazing view from the pool & good breakfast selection. If you stay here there's a wonderful restaurant just around the corner. Family owned and deliciously authentic food.

The views to the Acropolis from this hotel are stunning, and swimming in the pool beneath such a monument is delightful. We spent 4 nights here, 2 in an Acropolis view suite and 2 in a standard room. The rooms are fine, beds comfortable and everything worked well.
On the downside, this is a very impersonal hotel. Staff range from mildly polite to rude, particularly in the pool bar. Breakfast food is at best warm, as is the coffee. Staff at breakfast need to be asked for everything and don't expect plates to be removed if you move between cold and hot food. Charging for wi Fi is ridiculous.
Overall, this was disappointing. I would not stay here again

I have stayed at the Electra Palace several times. I am always pleased with the value received there. The hotel is very well located, offers spacious rooms and amenities, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it.

Location can not be beat! By far, this is one of the most pleasant hotels in the Plaka in Athens. This is our third time here and the quality of our stay always exceeds expectations. Staff is professional and since they know each other well, they make your stay seem like being in a fancy villa than hotel, yet all the services you need are provided. The service is genuine and personal. Rooms are clean and charming with nice amenities. We were upgraded to a deluxe room with a view of the Acropolis, which at night, is just stunning. Breakfast is wonderful and they have their own pastry chef. We look forward to returning.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a room with a view. How often do you get to fall asleep under the lights of the Acropolis...

Stayed in 6 different hotels in Greece and this was the most disappointing. Firstly let me say we paid 450 euros to stay for one night. Room not ready at 2pm checkin. The last peoples items were still around the room. Clothing under bed, water bottle, items in drawers. Breakfast was very basic for that calibre of hotel. Maintenance were fixing the alarms or something. All night an alarm kept going off in the corridor and kept waking us up. Nikos at the front counter was extremely rude about it saying it wasn't their fault. Good location but so are 100 other hotels. Very very disappointed. And we were very tired for our trip home!

Dear Guest
We are truly sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at the Electra Palace, as our customers satisfaction is our primary concern.
We believe though, that your review and comments based mostly to the fact, that we did not satisfy your demand, for getting a discount upon your departure. Allow me please, to mention:
-There were no foreign items in your rooms, as you did not leave anything back.
-The fire alarm truly activated, by another guest, at 08:30 in the morning and rung for a few minutes. It certainly didn’t ring during the night as you claim.
-Our buffet breakfast consists of about 75, mostly domestic products that rotate daily. ‘Basic’ is not a precise term.
On the other hand, the dilemma you set upon your checkout, discount or discredit, was unfair and indecent.
Nikos is one of our most polite front desk agents, as you can read also in this forum.
We truly hope that readers of this forum exclude similar wicked reviews.
I remain always at your disposal
Sincerely

Excellent introduction to Greece. Arrived at 9.30 am, we were told our room would be ready in half an hour, went and had coffee and croissants in the breakfast area and told these where complementary! The room was small but cosy with a glimpse of the Acropolis, which was a bonus as I book a no view room. Super comfy bed. Rooms a little noisy at night. Roof top pool, with Acropolis views, was the perfect place to cool off after a hot day of sight seeing. Perfectly located in the Plaka, walking distance to everything we wanted to see.

This was our last stop on our Honeymoon... We were so excited to be in Athens and this hotel was beautiful. We had a suite overlooking the Acropolis it was amazing. The location was perfect because we were able to walk to the Plaka and amazing restaurants were all around. We never ate at the hotel (we were only there for a couple of nights) but we did have drinks at the roof bar. The drinks were amazing, I had the electra martini, i'm so bummed I didn't get that recipe before leaving! We will definitely be going back to Athens and would stay at the Electra Palace again!

Room Tip: Acropolis view is insane!
