“Perfect location”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

This hotel is perfectly placed at the foot of the hills where everything is happening. Needless to say it is a few minutes walk from Acropolis, the new beautiful museum and the Plaka district. However, funny as it may seem, the connections between the places I wanted to be inside the hotel were confusing, such as the distance I had to walk in wet swimsuit through a great hall in order to get to the lifts.

Room Tip: The Executive Rooms are perfect.

We travelled with trafalgar stayed room 511 n 312. its part of the package but if we're on my own, we personally do not feel it deserve 5stars at least from where we travelled to before ard greek Islands, asia, usa n Europe.

No kettle nor utensils like cups or spoons in its "normal" rooms unless u go executive but again even 3/4stars Normal rooms around acropolis area have kettle n FREE wifi. Here at divani palace for ppl affording to stay 5stars shld afford to pay for wifi!! 1hr=2E; 2hrs=3E; 1day=5E. N u need use continuously no splitting the time usage. Again most cafe, other lower stars hotel have FREE wifi but the catch is that their passwords are mostly their tel number so unless u are a patron u prolly dunno.

5Pros on Divani. 1.absolutely excellent service even saying no to you or don't know is done politely as to where the nearest free wifi is. 2. Nice open AVERAGE rectangular swimming pool. 3. Beautiful rooftop garden to chill or dinner after 7-8pm with breathtaking views of acropolis coupled with above average priced menu. 4.very prompt services n excellent command of English even the barman. Especially they cater to huge groups everyday. 5. Great location. W normal balcony looking at acropolis. Nice! Great for free n easy less than 5mins walk to acropolis museum n zeus temple. n easy 10-15 mins to plaka n 20-25mins stroll to syntagma

5cons of divani.
1. Wifi need to pay.
2. No supply or hot drinking water unless go bar where open till 2am.so make sure u are not sick coughing or hungry for cup noodles for supper. Drinking water as usual u pay.
3. Musky smell in room. Think cuz its an old hotel so when u flip the pillows or blanket expect dusts flying.
4. Be sure u bring ur toiletries. Only soap, shampoo, shower gel supplied. No disposable toothpaste/toothbrush/hair conditioner/shower cap/sewing kit/comb/shaving kit etc usually at 5star hotels but again, go green people! !! Byo! Too bad for poorly prepared travellers, not free!
5. Food is really just edible our first night's dnr was simple panfried fish fillet but its so overcooked tat we chewed thru only 1 piece.the other was just not going down. Breakfast wide spread lots of variety. Tea coffee served personally so no point searching around. Breakfast is average w lots of choices.

Hope this detailed feedback helped future travellers. Here's From Singapore n Malaysia

Had a very pleasant 4 night stay. View of the Parthenon from the balcony, very helpful and friendly staff, ideally situated in a quiet area just a stone's throw from Plaka and the Acropolis. Very good breakfast combining an anglosaxon cooked breakfast, continental viennoiserie, cheese and cold meats, and Greek feta, olives, pickles, tomatoes, yoghurt and fresh fruits. There is an outdoor swimming pool on the ground floor accessible from the bar and conference area lobby.

Room Tip: Our room was a standard one on the front of the hotel. The rooms at the back do not have a view of...

Really good sleep. Room on 6th floor, nice size and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful and knowledgable on all my requirements. 7 min to metro and it's really easy to navigate. Outdoor swimming pool. There are some restaurants about 3 streets away

Stayed for two nights as part of a tour. This is a big hotel and quite a few conventions were also there. Rooms are okay but no coffee/hot water pot. We had evening and breakfast buffets. Limited varieties and were not replenished timely. Deserts were good though. Location is okay but not as convenient as what I would like.

The service was very slow, the breakfast was basic, the pool was basic, the shower was shocking and there were two air compressors on the roof which made or room sound like there was a motorcycle revving up in it through out the night. The room air conditioning on the other hand was non-functional. The rooms were very clean.
I would not go back and I would not recommend it

Room Tip: Do not get the 7th floor on the street side, you will get AC unit noise, try to get a room on the ro...

We stayed for 5 nights as part of a business incentives trip so we didn't have to foot the bill. To be honest I am glad I didn't have to pay as the hotel was fairly average and I think I would have been quite disappointed as the hotel has 4 star feel and definitely not a 5 star one.

The rooms were compact but big enough although the décor looked a bit dated. The décor in the hotel generally looked a bit dated in my view - lots of 1980's style glass and bling. The beds were comfortable but the 2 single beds could have been fastened together properly so that one of us didn't sink into the gap! The bathroom was ok but really, I shouldn't have to fight with a flappy shower curtain and deal with water pressure problems in a 5 star hotel. Our balcony faced the street but because we were fairly high up we didn't have problems with noise. We could also catch glimpses of the Acropolis which was nice.

The hotel was popular with tour groups and conferences which made it a very busy place. The breakfast crowds were a bit overwhelming and catching a lift in the morning was a bit challenging.
We didn't take many meals in the hotel other then breakfast and 1 lunch. The breakfast buffet was average and the one lunch buffet we ate was rather nice. I am glad we didn't eat here much because the dining area is in the basement which lacks atmosphere. There is a dining area next to the pool which wasn't being used - the hotel should consider protecting this area from the weather so people can take their meals here.

The hotel is located on an ordinary street but very close to two metro stops and within easy walking distance of the acropolis and the quaint streets of the plaka shopping district. It is very, very convenient.

We experienced mixed service levels in Athens and the service in this hotel was really good. The staff are friendly and efficient - nothing was too much trouble for them.

Room Tip: Choose a room on one of the higher floors facing the street - you can catch glimpses of the Acropoli...

We are sorry to read that your stay with us was not as memorable as we would like it to be

All your comments have been shared with my team and efforts are made to solve every issue. However please note that the hotel offers 3 restaurants: The main restaurant where breakfast is also served, the Bar next to the swimming pool also giving the chance for a lunch next to the pool and the roof garden restaurant operation only during dinner with beautiful views of Acropolis.

We hope that during your next trip you will have time to explore these choices
