I recently stayed for 2 night. The staff is just awesome. They provided us early check in, gave us the city map, guided about Athens. Also where not to go ;)
Walking distance to Acropolis and Plaka and just next to syntagma metro. The airport train stops right there.
Loved the breakfast. And they do arrange cabs on request on very reasonable rates.

The Amalia was perfect for our 7 days in Athens!

1. Location. Just across the street from the Metro - easy to arrive from Airport and/or Port
Across the street from the National Gardens and walking distance to Acropolis, Plaka (charming area of cafes, restaurants, shops and fruit stores.

2. Price and Product. The price was great for the services we received. Room was clean, well equipped and comfortable bed.

3. Breakfast. Nicely service in a comfortable dining room from 6:30 -10:30. Many hot (well typically warm) items, pastries, espresso machine, croissants, and a nice variety of Greek items (yogurt, dalmas, sweets, etc....)

Only complaint would be that although our room was non-smoking, the floor was not. The hallway was smelly with smoke, and our room - with an adjoining room door - often smelled of cigarettes as well.

BEWARE! we had 2 people how had their wallets stolen on the Metro while getting off at bsuy stops (people pushing and then reaching into pockets and purses) Although we had no problems- we kept our wallets well out of anyone's reach. The city is safe, but there are pick pockets here like many other large cities...

We were very happy during our stay and would HIGHLY recommend this 4 star Hotel for anyone visiting Athens!

Room Tip: We had a room with a balcony facing the National Gardens. Although during July it was much to hot t...

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights. It is very well located - just ten mins walk from Plaka and very close to Acropolis and Olympics stadium. The staff was very accommodating and arranged for an early check in for us. Definitely recommend it!!

Room Tip: Do inform the hotel well in advance about the kind of room you would like to be booked.

This hotel is very close to the Syntagma Metro, Parliament House, National Gardens and is in walking distance to the Acropolis and the shopping areas. We stayed there as a family of 3 (2 adults and 1 child) and the room was big enough with adequate space in the bathroom. Room had a refrigerator and locker. Free breakfast has a lot of items to choose from. Hotel staff were helpful and arranged for taxis to the Pireaus port for our onward travel.
Wifi costs 5 euro per day but we were able to use most non web browsing services on our smart phones(ex. google voice, yahoo mail etc) without paying for it. My guess is that that only port 80 is blocked.

The hotel has a very good location, the price is fare , the rooms are very good and the breakfast is very reach. we went anywhere by feet. the service is friendly. We had a very good time and we will stay in this hotel again in the future! There is a lot of noise outside and the windows must be closed.

Hotel is dead centre of everything. You can see the acropolis from hotel room. Walking distance to parliament if you want to protest. Hotel room are good. Pretty good size in Europe standard. Hallway needs a bit of updating but clean. Breakfast is good. Will stay again if we are in Athen
