We spent 3 days at Amalia hotel Athens it was not our first time its maybe our third and we will go again every time we pass by Athens.
The hotel is very well located good stuff helpful polite. The rooms are comfortable clean. The breakfast was not bad , but they need to add a few items for a bigger choice.

Fantastic Location near Parliament, Grande Bretagne, Plaka, National Gardens. Breakfast buffet is good. Bathrooms small but clean. Staff is friendly. Easy walk to many historic, cultural, shopping sites.

When our cab driver dropped us off at the Amalia he said " Good hotel. You feel like you are in a more expensive place".
He was right. This centrally located hotel is easy on the budget while providing all you need for a comfortable stay in central Athens. Enjoyed the view from our room loof the gardens, the modern bathroom, free wifi and delicious breakfast buffet. The staff was friendly and accomodating and at check in they told us they had upgraded our room. Easy walk to Plaka and public transportation. While not high on the charm factor, I was quite pleased with what the Amalia offered at a reasonable price.

Amalia hotel proved to be an excellent choice for 2 nights in Athens. It's location is great - 2 minutes walk from Syntagma square, 5 minutes walk from the Plaka, 12 minutes walk from the Acropolis. The hotel is 100m from the Syntagma metro station, which makes it easily reachable from the airport. Many bus and tram lines are across the street from the hotel.

Everything in the hotel, from the elevator to the bathroom, looks new. The room was not big, but very convenient. The staff was very friendly, breakfast was rich, and internet connection free and strong.

It's definitely the hotel I'd like to stay in on my next visit!

It is a normal 4 star hotel with a great location. You can walk to the main sites from the hotel and there is the metro to the airport just next to the hotel. Besides the location there is nothing excepcional about it. It feels like a business hotel.

Positive - clean, new, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, helpful staff, good breakfast.

Not so nice - no charm at all. There is an amazing terrace with views to the acropole that could be a wonderful place for the guests but unfortunately there is nothing there.

This is how convenient the hotel is located.
Decent size hotel with great location and the breakfast spread is fairly large and good variety.
Service in the hotel is good and wifi works well.
Only problem is with the air conditioning, I stayed in room 502 and 503 (stayed twice during my trip) and both times the a/c was not cold enough even though I turned it all the way to 10deg C as stated on the control.
I think the main reason is that the room has a glass panel and door leading to the balcony which overlooks the park and the room is facing east so in the morning, the sun shines straight into the room hence increasing the room temperature (green house effect) but in the night, the a/c works quite well but still not cooling, I guess the room would be about 24-25deg C in the night.

The Amalia is perfectly located near Syntagma Square. The rooms are comfortably furnished although a couple of chairs on the balcony would've been nice. The bathroom had been very nicely refurbished with a deep bath - perfect for soaking in at the end of he day. We stayed a total of 7 nights and there was plenty of variety at the breakfast buffet.
