Pros: Great location, clean room, most staff are friendly and helpful.

Cons: No water kettle, you need to ask staff downstairs for hot water, no hotel information book, 2 one minutes calls to Canada cost 15 Euros, booked 1 room for 1 person 3 months ahead, reception still allocated a room with 2 single beds (change to double bed after unpleasant conversation), same boring breakfast everyday.

Not as good as expected!

A friend and I spent 3 nights at the Amalia. The location of this hotel is great, walking distance to many sites and not far from the red tour bus if you decide to use that, shopping area is also just a few minutes walk away. Room size was good, we had a room with a few of the National Gardens, beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Breakfast was very plentiful, lots of great food and couldn't go away hungry. Would stay again if/when back in Athens and would recommend to anyone, front desk staff were very helpful as well.

Well presented hotel. As other reviewers have said, conveniently located within walking distance to some main attractions. I explored a full day on foot around the hotel, Acropolis, museum, markets, gardens, plenty to do. Street life is interesting - I was smiled at by a man in a pirate costume!

Room size is fine. Clean and well kept.

Breakfast was good. Decent choice. Dining room gets lovely morning light which is a nice way to start the day.

Hotel just a few streets away from a main bus stop where you can catch direct line to and from the airport.

the choice of this hotel was based on tripadvisor reviews, and we were not disappointed. it is a cozy with super clean rooms (ours was a superior one with side view on the parliament) and spacious ones with luxurious toiletries, one thing i regret the absence of tea/coffee facility . breakfast is delicious with a great variety of food and fresh fruits, staff are friendly and always willing to help. Location of the hotel is excellent with a few steps away from syntagma square and the parliament, just facing the national gardens. all the major attractions are only a walking distance away(Acropolis, Temple of Zeus, Plaka, Ermou street , Agora,....). During our 5 days stay in Athens we only took 3times the taxi: to and from the airport (2times) and to Glyfada( a nice coastal area with shops and cafes). I hihgly recommend that hotel.

A superb location and the staff were extremely helpfull, professional and friendly. Breakfast was varied, abundant and enough for the whole day. Room menu was much more interesting than the normal and good prices as well. We asked for and got a super view from the 5th floor and this was pretty good as we paid the lower price.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room with a side view if you dont want to pay the full front of hotel price.

A really great hotel, two minutes away from the Syntagma square and Hellenic Parliament. Spacious bedrooms♥ Great food available at breakfast. Given the location and service, not expensive at all. Some of the rooms have a great Acropolis view.:)

We stopped in Athens for a night and two days on our honeymoon. It was a decent property in a great location near transportation. The rooms were nothing special, but large in size. The balcony overlooking the gardens was beautiful, however. The breakfast was immense and tasty and the front desk staff was very helpful.
