We stayed a total of four nights. Three prior to a cruise and tour of Greece and one final night just before leaving Greece. The hotel is good in all regards. Clean. Friendly staff. Nice room and biggerbthan the average European mid line hotel. Not luxery but very nice. Breakfast buffet fantastic. In short, nothing we could complain about.

I really enjoyed my 4 day stay in Athens at the Amalia Hotel. It was an excellent location, close to Plaka, Acropolis, buses, metro, etc. The rooms was comfortable and the bathroom large. The breakfast was a highlight in terms of selection and amount. I would return!

Room Tip: Rooms on side or back are quieter.

This place is pretty nice but it's nothing above and beyond. It's located right in Syntagma Sq - if I were to go back to Athens, I'd get a hotel closer to Acropolis and Plaka area (just a tip) - so it's very convenient to get to and from the airport.

The rooms are clean and the bath tubs are very nice - deep and spacious, great for relaxing after a long day of walking around Athens. There's a decent breakfast for free at the hotel as well, which is nice. Maybe we should have asked for a quieter room so this is on us a bit, but it was LOUD. Couldn't sleep at all due to trucks and cars outside all night. Also, the AC didn't work so it was pretty stuffy in there. Wish there was a pool.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the main streets, somewhere quiet.

Fabulous and central location right by the Parliament. Very good breakfast. Super helpful staff. We moved from another hotel which we did not like at all. What a pleasure to move to a hotel that was so clean and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Stayed at Amalia on our second leg of our stay in Athens. Decided on the hotel for the fact that all our day trips start at the hotel. Very conveniently located to Syntagma and the plaka area. Rooms are nice although it you might be a little bothered by external noise. Staff are helpful and friendly, something which is lacking sometimes in other hotel chain. Breakfast spread were great.

Room Tip: Ask for higher floors and rooms away from the elevator.

The Amalia Hotel is very well located - very close to the Syntagma metro station (so you can take the metro to the airport easily), the Plaka district and the Acropolis. The National Garden is across the street. When we arrived we were given a complimentary bottle of sparkling water and some crudites. The staff told me breakfast was included in my room rate (even though when I booked Expedia indicated it was not). The breakfast was very good and gave us energy for alot of touring.
Our room was comfortable but the bathroom was very small. The staff at the hotel is professional and gave a good recommendation of where to get a good meal nearby. Would definitely stay here again if I was passing through Athens!

This review is for my parents who I booked this hotel for this month.

This is a great hotel, amazing location, rooms were good as well. Breakfast was okayish one can survive.
We have no complaints from the hotel as its value for money but this hotel can become superb is they can just look at the below points to improve. We had a local from Athens who came to receive us from this hotel and she knew about the hotel etc so its a well know hotel we presume.

1. Rooms have no complimentary water bottle. usually every 3/4 star hotel also now provides 2 bottle per day.
2. No electric kettle in room for tea, coffee, heating water etc. This is pretty standard in all 3/4 star hotels across.
3. We asked for hot water in the room to drink and they said its going to be chargeable.
4. No iron board if asked, they ask you to go to 6th floor to iron. thats really weird. you carry your clothes and then iron and come back to room. well not very nice.

Room Tip: high floors.
