“Best Value Hotel in Athens”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2014

This hotel knows Service!
The club rooms are very spacious and clean. The clientele are generally businessmen you do get people partying in the hallways which we experienced in a hotel down the road with people slamming doors at all hours of the night. The staff are courteous and very helpful for ideas of places to visit. The bar on the 9th floor has the best night view of Athens landmarks without being in the heart of the city. The hotel has courtesy buses to take you in or a taxi is only around 4 euros.
I believe it is the best value for money in Athens. I would recommend this hotel for anyone even families. It has a great gym too.

From some of the low scores on Tripadvisor we were expecting a lot less...what a pleasant surprise was in store for us. This hotel far exceeded our expectations. We stayed a week in June & July in room 567...which was the size of a small suite. Spotlessly clean...with a small refrig and coffee/tea pot. Maid & laundry service was consistently excellent. Two small but nice on site gift shops. Hotel has a very nice pool & spa

The restaurant Zoe is top notch in service and food quality. We had not one complaint...and we ate at there breakfast and dinner buffets quite frequently. Never tired of their variety of food choices. But the roof top restaurant was very very expensive. We ordered drinks there ONCE. The nighttime view of the acropolis is stunning and worth a visit. It's free to look! There is an extended balcony for an even better view if you want. Lots of photo ops. Taxi's are right outside the hotel doors and rates are cheaper than cabs you would call on your own. There is also a hotel shuttle that will drop you near the Plaka and other major sites. We will definitely stay here again.

When in Athens I usually stay at one of four hotels. This time it was The Intercontinental as my business there was nearby. As a Club member I had an early check in and had a late check out. I was welcomed at the desk and in my room by the club manager. Had a newspaper delivered in the morning and various other perks. Even though I find the reception area a bit cold, the coffee lounge however inside and out is nice. The service is wonderful and the afternoon buffet lunch in the restaurant is glorious. The choice in unbelievable and great value for money. They have a great shuttle bus service that takes you to the city centre, syntagma every hour for free. It also brings you back every ten past the hour. This of course makes up for its inconvenient location a bit further out from the centre. All n all it still remains one of the best hotels in Athens.

Very nice hotel, nice rooms. Staff was great, very helpful. Stayed for 8 days, very comfortable. Access to ATM in the lobby. Breakfast was great fresh juices, fresh fruit, best yogurt ever!!! The neighborhood wasn't that great, but it wasn't scary. We walked everywhere. Restaurants were right down the street, and the grocery store was a couple of blocks away. You could see the Acropolis from our hotel at night.

Room Tip: There were rooms that were remodeled and some were not. Make sure you get a remodeled room.

Dated interiors but the best hotel sheets I have ever slept on. Not a very attractive location nothing much to see or do around the hotel. Fabulous dining on the roof with view of the lit ruins of the acropolis. The one restaurant for breakfast has a fabulous assortment of fruits pastries meats cheeses juices.

So, the lobby, restaurants, conference rooms, and bedrooms in this hotel are really really top notch. I have a ton of space in my room and nice leather chairs. couch, everything, I am very impressed.

The staff has been great so far - I am staying here for a 3 day conference and stayed the weekend also afterwards.

The breakfast very good, almost excellent

Beautiful rooftop bar as well!

For europe, the fitness center is very nice.

Did I mention that the room rate is very reasonable? Especially because thus far I have described it as luxurious basically

Here is the problem - they basically ROB you with minibar, and bar prices!!! I mean, it is outrageous - 12.5 euros for a local beer at the bar?? Chocolate bars from the minibar are 7-8 euros? This is greece come on I took a 20 minute cab ride for like 6 euros and even then I think the guy cheated me.

The single thing that would make me rate this 5 stars is if they lowered their prices for these other things. But I am sure they rake in the cash by keeping the prices high and its worth it to them to not change it and remain a ~4 on tripadvisor. (I didnt eat at the restaurant but I looked at the menu and its the same - super expensive)

But anyways, just want to throw out this info for you guys!

I probably wouldnt stay here again because little things like that are just frustrating.

From the moment we arrived for this three night stay we were so very pleasantly welcomed by every staff member that we came into contact with. We opted for the Club Room giving us access to the Club Lounge which was a haven overlooking the Acropolis. Well worth the extra paid to sit, sip, nibble, and view from the terrace! Albeit there was a high profile delegation taking place whereby the lounge facilities were relocated for a couple of days, the hotel coped admirably and little was compromised!

We dined at 'Premiere' and can highly recommend the taster menu with accompanying wines.
Wonderful all round experience which will have us recommend and return!
