“Fantastic location, reasonable rates”

Centrally located, charming hotel and very reasonably priced. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable and view of the Acropolis from our room an added bonus. Breakfast was excellent. Free wireless internet.

On the main Athenas Avenue, a short walk from Monastiraki and the historical sites of the Acropolis and surrounding areas, including the night spots, this hotel provided a wonderful rooftop room, with a view of the Acropolis illuminated at night. The service by the staff was outstanding - very helpful. Very pleased with our stay.

When I first arrived at Hotel Cecil, the gentleman at the desk was extremely unfriendly. Just told me to leave my luggage and come back later, all in a very unfriendly manner. His attitude when I came back was not any better. In fact, he watched me struggle with my luggage up the stairs, only for me to find out later there is an elevator. Change of shifts, and a smiling helpful gentleman was at the desk. I was only there one night, but found it to be in a good location. Room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. One the way back from the islands I stayed at Hotel Attalos which I think the rooms were not as nice, but staff was a bit friendlier, and they have a bar on the roof with a great view of the Acropolis. I think I would choose Attalos . And they have free internet.

We stayed three nights while sightseeing in Athens. The location is excellent--close to archaeological sites and museums, two blocks from Monastiraki station. Good breakfast for both European and Canadian tastes, friendly very helpful staff, clean. It's right on the edge of Psyrri, the latest area for nightlife--so some great restaurants just five minutes away around the corner. Lively area both day and night, but we had a room on the side street and were never bothered by noise. Andreas the most patient and helpful hotel receptionist I can ever remember coming across--we heard him on the phone with someone who was trying to avoid taking a taxi from the airport--he outlined all the options including how hard it would be to manage luggage through various stations, buses, etc. Demetrius was more taciturn but gave us quiet rooms. This hotel is just what one hopes for when travelling on a restricted budget.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel on our visit to Athens. We had a beautiful room overlooking the Acropolis- a sight to behold at any time of the night or day.
WE reached there very late at night but were helped by 2extremely helpful and friendly gentlemen at the front desk. From taking care of our luggage to helping us with the directions, tours etc.
The hotel is located in a most central area on a road full of eateries, shops etc. Walking distance from historical sites and the metro. The road was shaded with trees in full bloom.
Breakfast was very sumptuous and served in a nice airy room. Free internet.
We had a most pleasant stay.

We stayed here as a family of 5 including children aged 14, 12, and 7. We were able to get adjoining rooms with a cot, including continental breakfast for 150 Euros per night. The hotel is basic, but perfectly fine with clean, reasonably sized rooms. The people at the front desk were helpful with our limited needs regarding transportation or directions.

Location could not be better, just a few blocks away from Monastiraki Square and the metro station. Most sights and the Plaka are easy walking distances.
