“surprisingly a very good experience in athens”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2013

we booked this hotel, with a little reservation because of some critics in some reviews we read, and found out that unfortunately this hotel got a very unfair attitude according to our experience.
we got a very specious room with a large balcony overlooking the acropolis hill, a fantastic large and well equipped bathroom, coffee corner in the room, safe, minibar, a real class, breakfast a real generous buffet, yes it is not pompous like the Hilton or grand bretagne, but hey, we payed only 60 euro or so per night!!!, room was clean, service was very professional and prompt, really a fantastic value for money.
it is true that the small alleys in the near neighborhood maybe unpleasant after dark, but if you stick to the main street Piraeus, we felt very safe, walking to and from omonia square metro station, 150 meters away.
it is a far better hotel than the neighbor 4 star hotel we stayed a few weeks earlier, which we did not enjoy. finally we strongly recommend !

Room Tip: try the tenth floor rooms, the quality of the rooms and the terrace are worth the small difference i...

It is a typical hotel in Greece. Rooms are normal size, but not so clean. Bathroom is okay, but there is no curtain so after taking a bath, everything is wet. Location is great if we think that you need ten minutes to get to the main Sintagma square, but this square is full of drug dealers, drug adicts, people of other nationalities. Breakfast is typical for Greece also. There is a choice of food, but you definitely can't say if the breakfast is good or bad. Also, the free wi-fi is only in the restaurant on the 12th floor, but in rooms, you need to pay.
What is good is the restaurant. I once had a salad, and it was good. But the best part of the restaurant is its amazing 360 degree view, because the complete hotel building is one of the tallest in Athens. Staff is at disposal 24h and helpfull.

The hotel itself was good - very spacious rooms with all that is needed. There is a terrace which was nice for sitting and reading. The bed was large and comfortable.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was good with a nice variety.
Several problems though -
No curtain or door to the bathtub which made it quite akward to shower without splashing all over..
Although our room was on the 7th floor the noise from the street made it impossible to sleep with the windows open. The aircon didn't work....
The location was great if you think of convenience. Very close to Omania square wuth the metro and other transportation and walking distance to other attrctions.
The minus - at night the area is a little creepy.
The hotel also needs a little renovation - the style is old fashion.

Location - ok, easy access to everywhere, yes there are drug users but they are everywhere in athens.
Room- dirty and small, don't get one at front it's noisy, we changed.
Pool- crap, can't move 5 sun beds for all hotel, not they would fit ha
Staff - reception cool
Breakfast- ermmmmmmm ok, bread, cheese, fruit lol
Overall - 4/10 wouldn't go back and not to be recommended
Tip- if you get bored go to glyfida beach on the tram it's great

Awful experience, hotel non recommended. The rooms were not properly cleans, the breakfast was poor and the location (Omonia square) not sure (located in a very scary zone of Athen full with drogue dealers and police). The hotel website does not correspond at the reality.... (it’s a two stars hotel ..)

1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 March 2013

My friend and I stayed here last weekend (March 8-11, 2013) and we arrived to an absolutely filthy hotel room in the middle of the most dangerous area in Athens. There was a pubic hair on the toilet seat from the people before us (GROSS), and there was a leftover hairy bar of soap still in the shower. There were also hairs from someone who had recently shaved all over the sink. The bed sheets were stained yellow, and the top sheet had a cigarette hole burned into it. The bedside table was sticky, and the blankets on the bed had a white crust in some areas. The ceiling looked like someone had projectile vomited on it, as it was covered in little yellow spots.

The area itself was full of homeless drug addicts. There was a beggar standing directly outside of our hotel, and we felt very unsafe when carrying our belongings to and from the metro. We had to plan our day so that we could be back before it got dark.

Although the roof had a nice view, and the hotel was close to the metro; I would never recommend someone stay here. We wore flip flops in the shower because it was so filthy. Also, you're unable to control the temperature; so if it's too hot or too cold, you're out of luck.

Maybe we just had a bad experience with the housekeeping (I strongly doubt it), but the location itself is worth the "stay away" sign. Do yourself a favour and avoid this hotel at all costs.

It is hard to imagine more appropriate accommodation if you're planning to explore the Greek capital for a few days or if you simply need an overnight stay. We stayed at the Dorian Inn Hotel over a weekend city break and were amazed by the excellent value for money it offers. Quietly elegant surroundings, smartly furnished rooms and a great location: just steps away from the Omonia metro station and the main Athens attractions. It is a carefully maintained place which has the aura of a top end hotel but charges surprisingly low for all this.
The hotel towers over its neighbouring buildings and we were met by great views when we reached the roof garden on a starlit Friday evening. We wined and dined at the beautiful glass-enclosed restaurant, enjoying an iconic night view of the Acropolis and the Athenian cityscape. A worthy choice!
