Stayed in May - Great spot end of a peaceful safe cul-de-sac. For the price it was perfect, very clean & safe. A very clean small room & ensuite , it was great to havea fridge & a fabulous balcony & weather was fine. Did not have breakfast . Only worry (although we were quite fit) were the 3 flights of spiral stairs to climb, which didn't get easier during our stay. It would have been nice to have a hand with our bags when we arrived & departed.

Room Tip: Book early ask for a balcony. Great café around the corner-huge cheap meals & excellent coffee...

This is a gem of a hotel in a part of Athens that is quiet and residential, yet close to many big attractions. It's a great place to stay if you want to be out of the most touristy areas, but still want to be able to get around easily. I felt that the area was very safe, even at night, and the metro station at Sygrou Fix is just a short walk away.

This is a family run hotel, but it is absolutely run in a professional and friendly manner. Christos did a great job giving us tips on restaurants and the best way to get to Piraeus port (easy!), and promptly fixed a problem with the air conditioner in our room.

The hotel itself is nice, the furniture is modern, and all of the spaces are clean. My husband and I opted for a private bathroom. It was small, but on par with other (more expensive) hotels in other parts of Greece. I had read some negative reviews about the sizes of the rooms before we booked, but I think they are unfounded. My husband and I are larger individuals and we were still comfortable in the room, could move around easily, and had plenty of space to stash our stuff. We also had a balcony that was nice for relaxing in the evening. Be advised that there is no elevator, so make sure you don't bring luggage that is too heavy to cart up the staircase.

Overall, we enjoyed our six night stay, thought it was a great value for the money, and would highly recommend Marble House to other travelers.

Your 10 minutes walk from the acropolis.
Yeah the shower head is too powerful to hang up as it swings round and does the floor instead
Yes the staff aren't here 24/7 and do not massively go out of their way to help
We were on the second floor - room 11 and the room was very small but nicely furnished, clean and the sheets were very soft.
Tv and lights, roof fan and A/C for 5€ a night.
For a room that's €20 per person for a 2 bed room you can't really complain - your here because it's cheap and close to the city centre, saying that, a shower curtain would be an easy addition and fix the shower issue.

Be careful with the stairs it's manageable, but it does bend round and spiral so it's not risk free!

I stayed here last year and again this year before and after visiting the Cyclades. The hotel is small and family run. Nancy and her son are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in a quiet cul de sac close to the metro and tram, in a residential area, but close enough to be able to walk to the Acropolis. The rooms are tastefully decorated and and spotlessly clean.
I wouldn't stay any where else in Athens now .

We stayed there with three little kids for two nights. Of course it is basic but then the price is very reasonable. The room was big enough as we had three beds and even a balcony with a tree in front. A luxury in densely built Athens. It's at the end of a deadlock, so it's also rather quiet for Athenian standards.
We found the place clean and nice enough for a couple of nights, especially as it is rather well located in a residential area and in walking distance to main sight seeing areas (not with little kids though). In addition, there is an excellent and affordable little restaurant (with take away option) just around the corner (ask at the reception) - you get all kinds of hearty Greek food (beyond the usual Moussaka) which also children will like. You can also find all sorts of bakeries, super markets, cafes etc in a radius of five minutes.
The owner gave friendly explanation for our day trip.

Room Tip: Rooms on first floor facing the street with balcony are probably the best ones.

We absolutely loved this place! a real hidden gem in a purely local neighbourhood, but still only 10mins walk to Aropolis and the tourist mecca. The marble interiors help keep the house cool. Rooms were very modern, clean & comfortable. Hosts were very helpful, Christos recommended a fab local bakery where we had the best spanakopita ever.
Top tip: literally around the corner from the hotel is a great restaurant, make sure you eat there!

Clean and comfortable room in a good location from which to explore Athens. We easily walked to Acropolis and to all areas of the city but when we were tired we easily hopped on the Metro which stops a couple blocks from hotel. Great staff - Christos was amazing and helped us out greatly! Bonus - the price was inexpensive. We would definitely stay here again!
