Athens Cypria Hotel

We stayed at the Athens Cypria from October 17-20th. The hotel is located in Plaka and an easy walk to get to the main sites. The hotel is clean. The room included a fridge, safe and hair dryer. The service was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included in our room rate ... it was average but offered sufficient variety. This is a good option for budget travel. The bed in our room was very hard. We were located on a higher floor and faced away from the street so very quiet. Our AC did not work the first night but was serviced and worked well for the remainder of our stay.

The staff were ruder than the customs officers at the airport. When we got to our room it smelled like cigarette smoke so bad, the tv didn't work and the plug in the bathroom didn't work. I wouldn't recommend staying at this hotel.

Athens Cypria fits the bill for a nice 3-star hotel. Rooms were clean and fairly modern, bathroom was a decent size and equipped with shampoo and shower gel, breakfast covered all bases with eggs, bacon, cereal, fruit and buns. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly and the location is unbeatable. In a side street off the big shopping Emou Street, amidst cafes and shops but still quiet. 10 minute walk to Monastiriki, less than 5 minutes to Syntagma. Overall a nice hotel in an amazing location.

Our family spent 3 nights at the end of our Greek isle trip at the Cypria in Athens. The hotel is located right off a main pedestrian shopping street not but as couple minutes from Syntagma square but it's still quiet.
The two connected rooms for the family were very convenient and allowed plenty of room for the four of us. The rooms themselves were clean, the furnishings nothing special. Which was perfect for a city trip where we planned to spend most time exploring the surroundings.
At breakfast the selection was good and the service friendly.
Would stay there again mainly for location and price.

If you want a deal on a hotel, that is centrally located to everything in Athens this is your hotel. It is right off of Syntagma Square and Ermou street, which leads to all of the neighborhoods. H&M and lots of other stores are right around the corner. You can walk everywhere and anywhere quickly.

The hotel was just ok. You get a free welcome drink of coffee, oj or Ouzu. The Wifi in the room is really weak, if you want to use the wifi it's best in the lobby or at the bar. I could never get a signal in the room. The room was very basic and clean. The beds were very uncomfortable. The mattress was like a rock and the pillow was weak and flat. The air conditioner work very well an cooled the room well. The hotel is kind of loud, the doors are very loud when they shut so it can be annoying when it wakes you up.

Overall if you want an ok hotel in an amazing location this is a good spot.

Centrally located, clean functional rooms. Front desk helpful to get you a taxi, point out a good restaurant etc. Close walk for most of what Athens is known for. The Plaka, metro station, beautiful narrow streets, great little cafes with views of the Acropolis. Elevator very small, so with big suitcases and people you could need 2 trips.( they do have stairs)
The morning breakfast (included) was great! Toast, eggs, bacon, cereal, coffee, juices, tea, yogurt, meats, cheeses etc..... Great way to start off the day with lots of walking!

The hotel is centrally situated, a short walk from the Metro, and is ideally placed to see Athens. The Plaka and Acropolis are within easy walking distance, through interesting shopping areas and narrow, picturesque streets. The area is safe and lively, with a good `vibe'. Our rooms were comfortable, a good size, quiet, clean, with well-appointed bathrooms and piping hot water, though we could have done with a couple of additional soft pillows.Complimentary coffee or fruit juice on arrival were much appreciated, as was the hair-dryer! Breakfasts were really good value. Staff were very obliging, efficient and friendly. We did not have a view from the balcony, but this did not make any difference to our stay. We would recommend this hotel to our friends.
