Hotel is in the Center. Parliament is in one step away. Go and watch the guards in Greek costume during the change of the guards. Breakfast is International. Rooms are good but old. And be careful with the elevator :) Get into the elevator with your body first not with your head. Otherwise the door of the elevator can crash your head. Door sensor is below.

First impression?
Old looking exterior and interior.. Of course on the website, professional photography will always make it look much more elegant. No views of the Acropolis from the room.

Service?
Good......Informative staff,, helpful concierge, one reception manager was kind enough to upgrade my room and the other allowed a late check out.

Location?
Superb, as it's centrally located to everywhere. No problem going about from here. Nearby to everything, from shopping to restaurants to sight seeing.

Price?
You might get something better if you're looking for ambient.

Overall, I think this hotel can and should improve its image as it's already located in a very strategic area. So if you're looking for ambience, there are many better hotels that provide it but if just location then I guess this is fine....

Room Tip: Top floors with balcony

But, as it is very close to all attractions and Plaka, it worths to stay...

Located in a prime location, in Syntagma Square, where the house of Parliament is located and a stone’s throw from the old city (Plaka), lies N.J.V. Athens Plaza. Just this supreme location makes it worth a visit, however, I’d like to point out some issues that I encountered during my stay there. Whether the hotel staff sometimes even went out of their way to fulfill my demands and the management tries hard, in order to keep the hotel up to date, N.J.V. Athens Plaza is not worthy of its stars. In the Classic Room, which faced the noisy (due to the air-conditioners) courtyard, the carpet needed urgent replacement as it was full of stains and holes, as well as the balcony door, which had a strange, ancient mechanism, while the bathroom also needed a make-over as most of the marbles and the tiles on the floor had been broken or damaged. The breakfast was above average but definitely not of a five stars hotel, served in a room again with no views. As for the lobby bar, it had lovely views over the square and the house of Parliament but it was noisy most times of a day and its décor was rather kitsch. To sum up, N.J.V. Athens Plaza is a lovely hotel, in a superb location, with awesome service but definitely not five stars; it might have been once in the past but not now! Room rates were quite affordable for what it offered; I would come back but wouldn’t pay for the breakfast. There are a few stores around the plaza, such as Paul Brasserie in Panepistimou str., serving Greek and foreign delicacies at a much lower price.

Room Tip: Try to get views over the square, the House of parliament or the Arcopolis; otherwise you'll be...

The hotel is supposed to be one of 3 top hotels in Athens. The location is very good. Rooms are comfortable, but nothing special and could do with a bit of renovation. In the rooms I especially liked that they all have balconies (rare in city hotels) and very nice marble bathrooms. Breakfast is ok, but nothing special. Breakfastroom is a very pleasant place. Staff is extremely nice. Official rate is very high, but I got a very good deal (130 EUR/night), which is reflected in my Value rating.

This hotel is in a very good location. The lobby was nicely renovated, clean, and had friendly staff.
The rest of the review may only apply to people who booked through HotWire so please ignore this review otherwise.

Basically, the room we got was pitiful. It had very old interior, outside the window was walls and other windows just a few feet away with ventilation fan noise coming from somewhere. My guess is they give renovated nice square facing rooms (haven't seem these so not sure if they are renovated or not) for full price customers and rent out these inner rooms cheaper on places like HotWire. I would recommend the manager to either remove the hotel from HotWire or make it significantly cheaper and list it as a 3-star hotel room (not a 5-star hotel room). It was basically advertised as a 5-star hotel room at a 4-star hotel price, but was actually a 3-start hotel room.

Room Tip: Do not get the inner building facing rooms unless it's priced really really low, like under $70

We stayed there for 2 days in May. The hotel is very well located and I must say the reception staff and the cleaners are nice and accommodating. Our biggest disappointment was the breakfast. I can honesty say this was shockingly bad, from the coffee we couldn't drink to the poor quality meat selection..We sent an email 2 months before our stay requesting gluten free bread, I asked for two days if there was any, nobody came back to me regarding this! Even though our stay was ok I think the hotel rooms are dated which is a real shame.
