We stayed at the Hera in early Ocotober. Due to the strikes in Greece, we had to travel from the islands to Athens a day early. Hera was able to accomodate us for an additional night with no hassle. We really appreciated it given all the other uncertainty caused by the stife in the country.
Everyone we met at the hotel was pleasant and friendly.
The location right next to the new Acropolis Museum is fabulous. We were able to get to everything we wanted to see with very little effort. There are also a number of good dining choices close by.
The rooftop restaurant had very good food, reasonable prices and a view of the Parthenon that was awsome. One word or warning though - cocktails with non-Greek liqours are EXPENSIVE. One evening after dining elsewhere, we went up to the roof bar. 3 drinks were 42 Euro ($60). I doubt they would cost that much in New York.
Our room was small but functional.
