This is part of the 12 euro ticket to see ancient sites. It put my imagination to work imagining some of the world's first plays here. Be sure to take water with you!

You get in with the same ticket thant the Parthenon. If you are walking around the Parthenon and the Acropolis Musseum it is worth it to enter this place. it is a beatifull amphi theatre, you can touch it and sit on it.

The theater of Dionysos huge and colossal architectural work millennial Greek, it is in fact located inside the archaeological area of the Acropolis.
A few meters after entering the first thing you visit before you start to get to the Parthenon.
This immense theater is completely in ruins but still it denotes its size.
You can roam up and down the theater also having the opportunity to see first hand the smallest detail or admire the view from the top of the theater.
This is one of the many attractions within the Acropolis, not to be missed .

The southern slope of the Acropolis can be warm, so go there in the early morning. The theatre is reconstructed sufficiently to get a good idea of its original shape and size. Maybe read the booklet 'South Slope of the Acropolis' from the bookshop on site.

So much of it is left. We know how it would have been used. Just imagine the amazing performances and the extent of the literary and theatrical canon. Easily worth taking a look and just absorbing. We did it on the way down. A complete and restful balance to the Agora that we walked through before we went up.
