This museum gives a comprehensive overview of Greek popular music over many years. Some of the instruments shown are rare and there are archive photos to go with them, as well as samples of the music to listen to. It makes a very refreshing change from the large and more crowded museums and a welcome respite when visiting the ancient monuments in the heat. It is not that easy to find, but the Tower of the Winds is nearby - face it and then Odos Dioyenous is up to the left.
Dont miss the excellent shop nearby selling a wide range of CDs, many of them historical recordings. If you are interested in popular music this is the place for you.
