“Don't Skip This”

The Panathenaic Stadium was my favorite thing is Anthens. It is not busy as most people are over at the Acropolis and the museum. Your entrance gets you a free audio guide too. I think it cost 6 euro each to get it.

Nothing in the stadium is off limits. You get to walk the track, the stairs, even the tunnel the athletes walked (which now leads to a room with every Olympic touch).

Run a lap on the track, you will never forget the experience!

“Just from the outside”
Reviewed 12 June 2014

You can get tickets to tour the inside if you have time. I didn't, but was able to get a beautiful perspective from outside.

“Good to see...”
Reviewed 12 June 2014

This is the old Olympic stadium. It was built in 1896, constructed of white marble & made to hold some 50,000 people. We decided not to pay the fee (3-5 Euro) to go inside since we could see everything beyond the ropes anyway...I do think there were narrating devices available too. It was interesting & I'm sure it would've be fun to do a lap or two had we not already been walking ALL over Athens by the time we got there--lol. Glad to have seen it!

“Don't miss this one!”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

We walked everywhere, and this eventually brought us to the Olympic stadium. Don't miss the audio tour-it gives a fascinating history of the stadium, the games, and renovation. I would highly recommend it and when they ask you to climb up to the top of the stadium seats, do it! an amazing view of all the attractions you likely just came from…a must!

“Massive Olympic Stadium”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

This massive, (entirely built of white marble) Stadium was built in 1896 for the Olympic games. Capacity of 50,000. When we were there in May 2014, there was a classic car show going on there, so added even more interest to the visit.
