“Very disappointing. Avoid at all costs”
Reviewed 26 December 2013 via mobile

Very basic, broadband doesn't work, rude and unhelpful reception, furniture tatty, room layout terrible. Had a very forgettable experience here and left 2 days early. No refund given.
Go to Pan Hotel across the street. Much easier at little extra cost.

Superb location, yards from Syntagma Square, with main shopping street, Ermou literally round the corner, and a 10 minute walk to Plaka. Hotel is basic, but very comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. I would highly recommend it.

A great value for money hotel - located only a few steps away from Ermou shopping strip and close to the Acropolis
Rooms a little outdated but very clean nonetheless
Friendly Staff helped out with directions
Would definitely stay here again

I stayed here while on a study abroad program. It was a decent little hotel, but clearly a budget one, so do not expect anything extravagant or “above and beyond” in terms of service and/or accommodations. The rooms are small and come with a two twin-bed configuration with a basic TV, small fridge, and very simple bathroom with a tub/shower combo. I felt that my room was decently clean but did hear some minor complaints from other students about their rooms.
The breakfast offered by the hotel is pretty good and includes Greek yogurt (honey optional), granola, cereal, warm milk, fruit, eggs (hardboiled and scrambled), and some other stuff. I left each morning feeling that I had gotten a good meal to start the day. The dining room area is pretty spacious, which is nice after coming from pretty cramped quarters.
The hotel is located next to a nice little shopping area and there are some good restaurants nearby. The Acropolis is within walking distance. Technically the Archaeology Museum is as well…but it is a bit of a trek and requires a lot more time.
The front-desk staff is a bit cold and distant but very informative if you push them a bit for information.
One tip, if you are staying here do take advantage of the really cool view from the very top of the hotel. There is a roof-top sitting area that is open most of the day. From it you can see the Acropolis and at night the view is really neat. I believe they lock the door around midnight and open it again around 8am. It is a really nice place to sit and read a book, FYI.
If you are looking for a cheap place to stay, this is a good bet. But again, realize it is a budget hotel for a reason.

Room Tip: The higher up the room, the less noise you can hear from the street but the hotel is located in a fa...

The location is excellent & the beds were comfortable. We got a good night's sleep each night & that is what counts & saves this review somewhat. The hotel is in need of modernisation & the staff were not the most motivated. The hotel also stank of tobacco in the lobby & other public areas, however not in our room. The bathroom was small & the shower uncomfortably tight-spaced. The breakfast is not worth mentioning at all: nothing fresh. There must be nicer hotels in Athens.

Room Tip: Our room was at the end of the corridor & it was fine. Not noisy at all.

I stayed there for 2 nights. It's a budget hotel and you shouldn't expect much. It's good for a weekend stay if you plan to stay more outside of the hotel in order to explore the city. Rooms are dated and in real need of an upgrade - old furniture, carpets, even shades in the window - everything seems to be old enough and in need of change. Doors are paper-thin - you can hear all the noises from the corridor and nearby rooms. Air condition control panel seemed to be from 1980's or so. Bathroom was refurbished, but it was very small, and ventilation was pretty poor. Hotel in great location - Syntagma square few steps away. Breakfasts were really good and there was a good variety of choices. Wi-fi was erratic and sometimes signal was weak. The only problem I had was that the cleaning staff started their work at around 8 am, instead of sleeping one could hear vacuum cleaners waking you up.

All single rooms are giving in the backyard of the hotel with the very disturbing noise of the ventilation towers. Rooms are dirty and very oldish. welcoming very distant and cold. my advice if you want a single room, Avoid this hotel.
