The Arethusa Hotel is a reasonably priced hotel given its location. It is very close to Syntagma Square and the metro and within walking distance to the Flea Market, Hadrian's Library and a number of other attractions as well as the numerous eateries.
Free wifi is available and although a little tired looking the place is generally clean and comfortable. The lift must be the tiniest one I have ever encountered; just enough room for two persons and two suitcases!
We didn't find the staff overly welcoming, but they were courteous and efficient.
A buffet style breakfast was included as part of our package and whilst not overly interesting, it was sufficient for out needs.
There is a coffee shop located directly adjacent to the hotel entrance. The coffee is good but the prices are off the radar. Don't go there! Good coffee at more reasonable prices can be found just about anywhere in the city.
Overall if you are looking for a basic hotel room at a reasonable price and in a good location, this one will check all the boxes.More
