This was a very nice hotel for the rate we got. I chose it based off of the location and was not disappointed. It is a 2 minute walk to the Acropolis museum and the metro station (which came in handy) 10 minute walk to the Acropolis, 10 minute walk to Syntagma square, and it is right next to a pedestrian street with a line of cafes. The rooms were nice and clean, beds were comfortable, maid service was good. The breakfast was not 5 star but it was still very good- a breakfast buffet with different breads, cheeses, meats, hardboiled eggs, crepes, fruits, cereal, cakes and cookies and more. The staff was also very nice and helpful, every time I asked them what is the best route or where is the best to go, they got out a map and showed me exactly where to go and what to see. One night our refrigerator in the room broke and we had to throw out a bunch of cheese that went bad... they were very accommodating and gave us a free dinner at their sister hotel which was amazing! The staff is very good and very accommodating.. They have free juice in the lobby and on Christmas they brought every guest wrapped cookies and cakes. They are truly amazing. The wifi is good but can get a little slow, certainly cannot stream a movie with the free wifi and the TV is lacking American channels, I stuck to MTV all day.

The only negatives I have of the hotel is there is not much of a view, since it is on a side street. Also, the street it is on can get dark and scary at night time especially if you are coming back from the direction of the Acropolis. Also the elevators are pretty tiny. Other than that, I really enjoyed my time here.

Room Tip: no rooms with Acropolis view and noise does not matter, nor does being clodse to the elevator matter...

I loved the breakfast here.It was Complete and delicious. The most remarkable benefit of staying at the Airotel Parthenon is its absolutely close proximity with the famous Acropolis Museum. Yes, that’s one of the reasons why I had chosen Airotel Parthenon as my stay Hotel during my recent vacation trip to Athens. The in-house restaurant was elegant, bright and offered a great view of greenary. The rooms were clean and bathrooms adequate. House-keeping was just fine but they did take a while to show up after 9PM in the evening. On the last day of our stay, the chef at the restaurant had suggested us a special Greek recipe which my wife literally relished. I had actually expected the Hotel to charge me an exorbitant amount owing to its superb location and above average service. But to my surprise, the final bill amount was well within my budgets.

We and another couple stayed at the Airotel Parthenon (also called Hotel Parthenon) for three nights before a cruise originating in Athens. The hotel rooms were very clean, and the maid service was excellent. We had read previous reviews of problems with the air conditioning not cooling, but we had no problems with this. The only problem we had was that the Air Conditioning leaked water from the ceiling onto the shelf with the safe and our passports on it. They were soaked and we were afraid they were ruined. The desk staff came through for us, though, and dried them out and ironed them flat so you could not tell how badly they had looked at first. The location is outstanding, in the middle of The Grand Promenade, a great tourist, restaurant, and museum area in Athens at the foot of the Acropolis (about 200 yards from the South Entrance). From any of the nearby sidewalk restaurants you could see the entire Acropolis lit up at night, a truly breathtaking sight. We especially liked the fantastic breakfast at the hotel in the morning, a great selection of many different types of breakfast food for whatever your tastes preferred. A great savings, allowing money saved to be spent on Athens! Also, we enjoyed the little bar on the second floor of the lobby, often stopping there for a drink before heading out for the evening. Everything you want to see is a short walk or a short metro ride away. The Acropolis Museum is a block away and is a must-see, with a decent restaurant on the roof looking up at the Acropolis, and a glass floor allowing you to look down on two-and-a-half-millennia-old ruins recently excavated. We felt like we received a great value for our money at the Airotel Parthenon.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the street rather than the back of the hotel--the balcony is much larger and y...

We stayed at the Airotel Parthenon this past October, 2013, for 3 nights. We were a couple plus a friend so we had 2 rooms. Both were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the free internet. This was precruise so we tried to catch up on our internet before using the expensive ship's system. The free buffet breakfast every morning was a real plus. The choices were extensive. There was something for everyone. There were hot and cold entrees, plenty of juices, baked goods, and cereals to name some items. The breakfast was in their white tablecloth restaurant and very pleasant. The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for us. We never needed a cab. The subway was also very close. We found it easy to walk to the Acropolus and the Plaka. Lots of restaurants were nearby. All in all a nice choice and well priced. We could have stayed free elsewhere on points, but we found this location with free breakfast and internet perfect for us.

We stayed two nights in this hotel. I booked another for third night in case this hotel fails. But now I regret it. We, as two adults and a child, booked for a double room but they offered and changed it to a triple room for the same price.

Staff were kind and helpful. Special thanks to Yannis. As we checked in, he gave us all necessary information, directions and suggestions.

Room was large enough. It was simple and a bit old but absolutely clean. Beds and pillows were comfy. It had a LCD TV with all Greek channels. But it was able to play mpeg movies from USB memory. Bathroom was clean. Towels, soaps, etc. changed daily. Room has balcony but it doesn't have a nice view.

We all enjoyed the breakfast very much. Wi-fi was free and worked very well in every spot.

Location is great. Just a minute from Metro station, 2-3 minutes from Acropolis museum, 2 minutes from Zeus Temple. It's at the beginning of Adrianou street which goes through Plaka. Entrance is from Makri street which is lovely with citrus trees and has no traffic and no noise at any time of day.

Strongly recommended...

The location of this hotel is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
However, the rooms are dirty and very small. There is some kind of plastic carpet on the floors which was very sticky. One bed had bed bugs and the other bed was made with a sheet with fresh blood stains on it (for real). The breakfast was very bad: the bread was dry and old, the pancakes cold and dried out, and most of the other things were not fresh either. I don't understand how people can say the rooms were spotless cleans: there were dirt specks everywhere in our room, especially in the bathroom. I would not recommend staying here despite the good location.
