l have stayed at this hotel many times as it is very close to my business partner.Rooms are very large and have sound proof windows. This hotel is always full because of its location and relative price, for this reason, specially during breakfast time it is sometimes very difficult to get a table. The quality of the food served at the buffet is very good and have many choices. The worst point at this hotel is Wifi as it not free of charge and you must buy the internet cards fm the cashier at the lobby bar. Many Greek and International restaurants are within the walking distance of not more than 5-10 minutes.Metro station is also around 10 minutes on foot. There is a big super market around 300 meters to the hotel.

We had two rooms for 7 nights in September 2013, and were very pleased with our choice of hotel.

Location-wise, the hotel is around a 30 minute walk (or 5/10minute taxi ride, which costs around 4euro during the day, 8euro after 11pm) from the main central area around Syntagma Square - which is where many of the more 'traditional' restaurants are, and leads to the Monistiraki flea market and Acropolis etc.
Despite not being in what I would regard the 'main centre', this does not mean to say the hotel is 'out in the sticks', quiet or removed from amenities - there are a few bakeries, bars, supermarkets and clothing and shoe shops literally a minute or two away from the hotel.
As I mentioned it's only a few minutes taxi-ride away from the Monistiraki flea market, Acropolis, and also from Mount Lycabettus - you can get to anywhere easily from here!
It's also around a thirty minute taxi ride (or 1hour bus ride away from the airport). A taxi to or from the airport should cost between 30 and 40 euro during the daytime/early evening. Be sure to agree a price with the driver before you get in, as whilst most taxi drivers are fine, there are those out to fleece tourists.

The rooms themselves are large, spacious and clean, and each have good air conditioning and a safe. One point to bear in mind, however, is that those with long hair may wish top bring their own hairdryer as the one in the room is a bit rubbish.
Rooms situated at the front of the hotel may still experience quite a bit of traffic noise from the main road - however having spoken with numerous other tourists staying in numerous other hotels in Athens, the problem is city-wide. It is a very, very, very busy city with taxis, cars and motorbikes zooming around at all hours. My research has led me to assume that only the very expensive 5star and luxury hotels can effectively block out noise from the outside world completely. If you can afford to pay three times the price of this hotel per night, by all means do so - however as it is such a busy city I suspect there will always be some outside noise! As this is situated a little away from the main centre, you will be spared a lot of the noise the centre emits all night - groups of people congregate in the main squares until obscene times at night/in the morning.

The staff were all polite, friendly and helpful - it's a real pleasure to deal with such professional and efficient staff whilst abroad.

Our booking included breakfast too, which was surprisingly good. They have a good variety each and every day, and do provide different options from one day to the next. Every day there were several varieties of breadrolls, pastries, fruit, cooked meats, cheeses, yoghurts, eggs, bacon, sausages and naughty sweet treats such as donuts. Eggs-wise, wome daye these were fried, other days scram bled, other days hard-boiled. The variety was good and you comfortably fill up for a busy schedule eating something different every day.

On the top (21st) floor is a swanky pool and cocktail bar. This in itself has guaranteed our custom next time we visit Athens. There are publicans and restauranteurs from nearby (i.e people who live and work in Athens and do not actually stay at the hotel) that happily pay 20euros on a daily basis to visit and use the pool facilities - this in itself speaks volumes about how nice the atmosphere is, how good the pool is etc. As others have mentioned, the view from the rooftop bar and pool is fantastic!

Overall, nearly everything was great about this hotel, we really were very pleased with our choice.
There is just one thing I would recommend changing about the hotel, on e very minor thing that really irritated me. When using the pool, the staff will provide you with towels, and sign these off against your room. However, they will not simply give you a towel upon provision of your room number, you have to pay a 10euro deposit per person. As there were four of us, this mean I had to bring 40euro upstairs to the pool area with me every day just to be able to borrow a towel. I understand why they do it, they can never be sure who will and who will not return the towels once they have finished with them. However, as you took my credit card details as soon as I booked in, could you not just bill me for the cost of a towel if I don't bring it back? That would make far more sense, and would provide a much slicker and more enjoyable experience for guests. Quite frankly, having to carry 40euro to the swimming pool every day was a real nuisance, you don't need a wallet to sunbathe - especially as not all staff actually ask for the bleeding deposit? Why do some follow this policy and others not?
As they lend towels against a room number, and there system should show my card details (after all, I charged drinks to my room every day - which I was billed for at the time of checking out) - it would be far more professional of them to only take the deposit from non-guest visitors to the pool, or from those who don't have a credit card linked to their room.

Other than this minor irritant, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and will definitely consider it if visiting Athens again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back (i.e not looking onto the main road' are quieter.

I stay in the president every 6 weeks or so on business. The rooms are comfortable and spacious with a TV, aircon and mini fridge. Amazing views of the city the higher your room (obviously) , be aware they have smoking and non smoking rooms so be sure to state your preference.

Once you arrive and your in your room make sure your next port of call is to get in the lift ( take note : evens on the left odds on the right) and head the 21st floor to check out the roof top bar and pool. The 360 panoramic view of Athens is spectacular. The price of a beer however is not. A heafty 6 euros a beer makes the view come at a price, when a road side can from the kiosk is 1.50.

If never had to interact with the staff but from what Ive seen everyone seems pleasent and happy to help.

From the airport a cab will set you back a flat 35euros, ive never ventured on bus or train in athens but I understand its easy enough as it was all built for the olympics years back so its cheap & tourist friendly.
Location from the city centre (Acropolis)... about 30/40 mins walk or an amusing taxi ride avoiding mopeds and misfits crossing the road. You'll see.......

Room Tip: High Floor !

We stayed at President hotel for 1 night before our flight. You can easily get to the airport by taking the X95 bus that has a stop 5 minutes walking from the hotel (about 40 minutes ride when there's no traffic). However, it took us about 1.5 hours to get to the hotel from the port of Piraeus, using 2 trains. The neighborhood is OK but there isn't really anything to see in the area, so if you want to explore Athens you need to take a Metro/bus/taxi.

Pros: Good location if you need to get to the airport, very friendly staff, nice roof bar near the pool (though expensive...), good breakfast from 6:30 (important when you have an early flight!).

Cons: The hotel rooms looks quite old and the beds are very soft (not typical for Greece). Moreover, Wifi internet costs minimum 4 Euros (for one hour), nothing interesting to do in the close area.

Pro's : roof top pool, friendly staff, good sized rooms.
Cons: awful breakfast, very poor wifi, food generally poor. They allow people smoke on non smoking floors, allow large groups who party all night even in the corridor, I complained 3 times during the night up until 5.30 am about a group. A nice member of staff tried to manage the situation but couldn't. And then they still charged me full price, saying we hope you come back to visit. I stayed 7 nights and the all night party was the last night. Otherwise I would have left earlier. If they have compensated me in some way I would have left with a better opinion of the hotel and management. Will never go back and would not recommend it.

I'm surprised that this hotel doesn't have a better rating. The hotel was great; comfortable beds, clean rooms and bathrooms, great service at reception, located close to two metro stations, shopping, and bars/restaurants, and a FABULOUS breakfast. I'd definitely stay here again!

We stayed here for 4 nights whilst sightseeing. The public areas, particularly the reception area are pleasant. The view of the city from the penthouse bar is fantastic. Likewise the pool area was very nice, just a shame so many of the sunbeds appeared to have been reserved - but remained empty! The hotel is near to the metro station and easy to reach from the airport, but is definitely more than a 10 minute walk with or without luggage. The rooms are a decent size but a little dated.
