we were walking the loop from the Monastiriki Square area to the Agora to our right when we came upon this one of many side walk eating restaurants. It had an appealing seating area and interesting menu featuring souvlaki & Greek items. I had a very good Greek salad & friend tried the veal, pork & chicken souvlaki. The service was good, lots of food, and moderate price. It is a good lunch choice on yourcAcropolis visit day.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable time at Souviaki Bar. My wife decided to eat there because the restaurant looked like it served different food from all the surrounding places that served mostly Greek food.

The chicken wings were well marinated and tender. We were happily surprised at the portion of ribs for 6.50euro. The grilled mushrooms were also good.

This place was a favorite of a study abroad trip I led in 2011 with college students. The prices, the amounts and the service were all very good. Checked out the restaurant earlier this month and was pleased to see they were still in business and have added to their menu. Prices are still very good. Location is just a bit off the super busy pedestrian path so it is a bit more quiet. Try out the submarine for something a bit different to finish off your meal. Find this place when you are in Athens for a good lunch or dinner.

Just off the main drag, so not quite as noisy as some restaurants, but still well positioned.
Huge portions, which are served all at once, which tends to be the Greek way. Chicken wings were rich and sticky.
I had the house salad, which was huge and very tasty, with a portion of kebab; three kebabs on fresh pitta with fresh tomato and onion. My dining partner had the Souvlaki mixed grill, it was HUGE!! Easily enough to share. Two large beers and we were done! All for around €40, a real bargain, very high quality food, very tasty, great service.
Outside seating is available. Inside is very comfortable modern wood furniture, high seats and tables, very clean. This place is a real find.
