We arrived in Athens on June 20th and were impressed by the King George's welcoming staff and exceptional accommodations immediately. While the prices at the King George may seem a bit higher than other nice hotels in Athens, the King George is definitely worth your dollar (or euro). We were upgraded to a suite, which included a spacious bedroom with a balcony overlooking the square, large marble bathroom, fresh fruit daily, bottled water, and ouzo! Every request for information or items was handled in professional, polite manner. We even left luggage at the hotel while we explored the islands for five days. Definitely, a five star experience at the King George. We will return for another stay in the future!

We stayed at the King George for 1 night at the end of our trip using points. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite - the room was gorgeous and fully appointed with everything and anything you might need. We had dinner at the Grand Bretagne next door and breakfast in the Tudor restaurant at the King George and enjoyed the great views of the Acropolis from both hotels. The King George and Grand Bretagne are both Starwood hotels, are located next door to each other in Syntagma Square, and should be ranked the #1 and #2 hotels in Athens. You can't go wrong staying at either. The location is unbeatable and walking distance to the Plaka and Acropolis.

Very nice rooms, very clean, staff very friendly. Adjacent to the Grand Bretagne where you can use their facilities. Beautiful roof top dining room for fantastic breakfast, view of the acropolis. Grand Bretagne is top hotel in Athens and you'll have to pay top dollar - king George is a fantastic affordable alternative if you want high end. Athens is a busy city so coming back to a nice luxury room feels great!

t is best situated in Sindagma square where you can reach directly by metro from the airport (fastest way to reach there). The staff wad extremely kind and very hellpful with recommendations. Hotel is quite expensive, we took the cheapest room which didn't had a sight to another room so we had to keep curtains closed. The room is big with a very big bathroom, but few things were missing that I wouldn't expect them to be missed in such level oh hotels. First there wasn't a mirror in the room only in the bathroom which terribly annoyed my wife. Secondly, though bathroom was very large they didn't put enough shelves and hooks on the wall and lastly there was a nice and large bath tab but there wasn't a way to make a good shower as they didn't have the option to hang on the wall the handset.

Room Tip: Ask for a mirror they can get one to the room.

Spent 3 night at the King George in June. Perfect location in Athens - near Plaka section and overlooking Syntagma Square. Walking distance to many of the historic sites and museums. The staff was very helpful arranging transport to/from the airport and providing advice and directions on restaurants and tours. The hotel itself is very beautiful and impeccably well maintained.
The room we stayed was clean and the bed comfortable. Bathroom had bath tub with a hand held shower, clean and well lit. The main room however had a large column in the middle of the room which made accessing the bed a little tricky. And the room had no view. Another nit was the in-room wireless charge even though SPG member. Yes - booked through a 3rd party so no points, but was hoping at least for internet.

Room Tip: As about room view when booking.
