We accidentally walked by this restaurant on our way to enter Acropolis (there's a cozy road to one of the gates through narrow passages if you continue up), we went back to the restaurant in the evening and had a nice meal of fish, lamb and beef. Live music and polite waiters added to the experience.

We stumbled upon this restaurant walking back to our hotel from the Plaka. It is up the hill under the Acropolis. It's location provides some quitude since it is not on the main drag. We had arrived at the restaurant very early (6:30 pm) since we were jet lagged and fighting to stay awake. There were only several customers at that time. The restaurant got more crowded as the evening went on with a mix of both Greeks and tourists. The service by our waiter Stefan was excellent. He was personable and helpful. My husband had the roasted sea breem which came with spinach and stewed zuccinis and I had the pork slovaka with rice and fries. Between us we had three 500ml Alfa beers and the total came to 33 euros which is very good value for a good quality meal and drinks plus entertainment. I noticed that a lot of the customers had ordered a dish that came "en papilotte" that looked very good. Our waiter said it was a local goat dish.

At 7:30 pm there was a band that had a very good singer and two other musicians that accompanied her. All in all a very lovely location and meal.

We passed by this restaurant the first night in Athens and instead chose poorly at another place in the area. But went to this one the second night and was not disappointed. The view of the acropolis was excellent, the food was great, the waiters really hustled to serve the food and drinks. The location at the top of the hill made it quite comfortable on a sticky evening. All-in-all a great dinner with the family.

This was our first meal in Athens, and the food and ambience were actually quite good. Like other travelers have mentioned, you climb a small hill to get to the restaurant, but the seating outside is quite nice and seeing a corner of the Acropolis lit up at night is neat. The positives: there were 2 guitarists and a singer providing some folksy easy-listening background music, and we shared a greek salad, and 2 chicken souvlakis which was quite tasty. Despite the setting and good food, it was very difficult getting the attention of any of the waitstaff. You basically are not checked on during your entire meal - though this seems to be the norm for Greece, having now spent over a week here, so that may not be a real knock on the restaurant.

Overall - probably a 3.5* place with good food, average pricing, nice ambience, and mediocre-poor service.

We had diner in this pretty taverna during the last week of June. To find it you have to keep climbing but then you appreciate the view of the Parthenon.
Staff very friendly and welcoming. they do everything they can to make sure you enjoy your meal (occasional car or motorbike passing is inevitable but it is dealt with quickly) and I like the fact that they step back and look at the tables to see if anything is missing whilst you are enjoying your meal. There was band playing music and singing but it was not too invasive in order for you to have a normal conversation. It is situated in a quiet little street.
Our waiter was an experienced waiter and had a little chat with us and gave us some recipes.
