CC is a gem. Its a clean hostel with comfy mattresses, chique, close to metro, bars, the square with all its tavernas...close to all the tourist sites..and the flea market. The communal breakfast was awesome. They'll do your laundry for 7€ . The rooms and showers are cleaned daily. Fresh towels daily as well. For the AC to work you have to have all the windows closed ;). Awesome staff. They take credit cards.
Keep an eye on pick pockets at the Metro station..my roommate had his phone picked off.

The most enjoyable stay i have had in my past 4 months' of travelling around Europe. The place is so well maintained with everything you would need as a backpacker. Enjoyed the fresh fruits and yogurt breakfast in the mornings very much, with a cup of coffee in the nicely decorated dinning with, chatting to fellow travelers. They also have a small roof terrace which gives you a view to the Acropolis. Enjoyable! Although the place was a bit hard to find for the first time, but after one day walking around the area, I realized that the venue is really close to all the cafes, restaurants, and tourist attractions. Highly recommend!

This is NOT a "hotel" but a HOSTEL, so people be aware!! We really don't understand why Booking.com has it classified under "hotels". A HOSTEL per night is outrageous!
The terrible smell of the sewer invaded the bedroom The bedroom itself was very bare, it only had the bed, a very simple cupboard and two small bedside tables.
The breakfast was served by a girl who didn't speak one word of English, just Greek, and it was impossible to make her understand that we would like hot milk in our coffee instead of a heap of ice cold milk. Thanks but NEVER AGAIN for us.
Psiri is the pits and the Greek should keep their capital cleaner with no writings on buildings EVERYWHERE you look, because besides the Acropolis it doesn't have much to show for!

This hostel is remarkably clean, friendly and located just 7 mins from Monastiraki METRO Station (Line 3 - airport) and Monastiraki Square (a hub of activity, eateries and shops) and close to the Acropolis, Plaka, Agora and Syntagma Square. Dorm room w/ bathroom worth the few extra Euros. Free daily breakfast was plentiful and excellent. Make sure to check out the hostel's rooftop with it's amazing Acropolis view. Only possible negative is that the area is a lil dodgy at night.

Make sure to enjoy a FREE walking tour from Monastiraki Square which is offered daily from 10am meeting in front of the Attica Bank building in the square. Visit the Acropolis either in the early morning or late afternoon (avoiding the crowds and the HEAT). Enjoy a authentic Gyros at only €2 Euros in Monastiraki Square. What an iconic city full of history dating back 1,000's of years! If this place doesn't wow you, nothing will.

Room Tip: Dorm room w/ bathroom worth the few extra Euros.

Stayed in Athens for a week. Arrived at City circus house to a warm welcome from the host Dimosthenis. Made sure I had everything I needed, gave me directions and maps to see the city (you will not be disappointed with athens, what an amazing place!)
Rooms were spacious enough, very comfortable & clean, and bathroom was clean too. 100% for comfort and hygiene, always number 1 priority on my list and I wasn't disappointed at all.
I've stayed in many hostels on my travels but city circus is by far number one on my list and will be i'm sure for many years to come
I hope I can come up to Athens again just to have the pleasure of staying in this lovely hostel again and seeing the owners again, especially dimosthenis :-)

City Circus was our home-base for 3 days in Athens, Greece. We stayed in a private room, for a decent price. We were very close to Manastraki Square, the ruins, and most of the sites to see in Athens. (As we were expecting thanks to other reviews, we did have to walk through a less-crowded part of the city to get home.) Best thing we experienced in Athens was located just a few blocks away, Hammam Baths was an incredible experience and a perfect end to a busy day of sightseeing.
City Circus helped to organize two fun tours through GeoTours, and pick up was located just a couple blocks away! Because we had to leave early for these tours (7/7:30am pick ups), we missed out of breakfast, but the gracious staff still was able to give us some coffee, boiled eggs, and yogurt before the food was even set out. This was GREATLY appreciated!
The rooftop space was very nice too, with a beautiful view of the Acropolis, especially at night!
Highly recommended!

My friend and I stayed for only one night passing through Athens in early August and were really impressed with the hostel. We were disappointed we couldn't have stayed longer in the hostel! Caught a glimpse of the rooftop terrace in the short time we were there and the views were spectacular. Great set up as regards rooms and bathrooms and the beds are so comfortable and clean, we were chuffed having spent a long day travelling. While we didn't have time to grab breakfast as we had to leave for a ferry early the next morn, it sounded fantastic and would have been served in a deadly-looking communal area.

Another thing worth noting was the help a guy by the name of Cristos on the front desk gave us. Only for him my friend and I wouldn't have had the faintest clue how to work getting a ferry, getting there, etc. Many thanks to Cristos in particular!

Only thing we will say is that the location is a bit out there, especially if you're coming and going at night when there are no street lights at all so to speak of off the main streets in Athens. Apart from that, very much recommended.
