Our group had a great time accompanying Chef George throughout the Plaka and market areas. We visited a lot of places that we would likely have missed and got a real sense of the best Athens has to offer. George adjusted his tour based on our interests and our ability to keep eating. This was no small sample excursion, there were many things to taste and share. We got a fantastic education on olive oil, bread, and buying fish and meat at a market. So this was a fun experience that also paid off with some real life lessons. Chef George was energetic and fully engaged in providing a truly unique experience for his guests. I highly recommend this tour.

Ask for Iliana! She is passionate about her country and educating you on all of YOUR areas of interest .
In just 4 hours, we learned not only about Ancient Greece, but about more recent history . We discussed education, politics , economy, and lighter topics as well! Our time was filled with lively conversation, walking through areas we might never have found on our own, and had we somehow stumbled upon the areas, would not have known the significance of it without her input. The pace was quick yet somehow relaxing, as she included a stop for Greek coffee and later, a lunch-on-the-go snack. She also offered helpful information on Greek customs, places to shop and enjoy dinner once our tour ended. With only one day to spend in Athens , we are certainly happy to have spent it with Iliana!

Insightful, knowledgeable, polite, fluent in English, accommodating, funny, flexible - perfect! Met us at our hotel and had us back in time for our transfer to the airport. Gave us an excellent Sunday morning introduction to Athens before we headed to our island hotel, and we used what we learned on our return later in the week to confidently explore on our own. Translated the graffiti for me! Reviewed our reservation information and designed a tour to perfectly match our interests. He was prepared and ready for us! One of the best parts of our Grecian trip!!

We were not looking forward to traipsing around Athens, (the Plaka, we thought) especially with my wife having a sore foot but how wrong we were. This was one of most memorable afternoons of our 14-day trip to Greece. Yorgos (George) was so knowledgeable and engaging about food in general and the very unique ways Greeks enjoy flavors. He introduced us to such interesting, off-the beaten path places we never would have found on own own. When we noticed some graffiti during the walk, he asked --and with our enthusiastic agreement--'morphed' our tour into Food plus Street Art. It was awesome! We toured the Centre's Food and Fish Market, Psyri back alleys with the feeling of wandering around with an old friend who loved the city, and loved to share it with others. On the rest of our trip, we cruised the Islands and saw magnificent things, for sure, but when I tell people I’ve been to Greece, this is what I’ll be referring to.

Our group of 6 was led on the Flavors of Athens tour by George. He is a chef by trade and passionate and super knowledgeable about the food and flavors of Greece! He met us at our hotel and took us all around the neighborhoods of Athens to taste everything from breakfast through dinner. Come hungry! He imparted history of the area along the way. He knows the markets well and taught us what to look for when buying fresh fish. Every location we went to was wonderful and of course all the food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this tour!!
