Nikki was awesome and personable. She was punctual and went above and beyond. She was very knowledgeable about the area and the sites she showed us. We would definitely recommend Nikki to anyone.

Every bite was delicious, from the morning coffee to the lunchtime souvlaki. As we walked together, we tasted and learned so much about authentic Greek cuisine (fish, fruits and vegetables, and especially spices) from our guide, George. As a chef, he was so knowledgeable - and he clearly had great relationships with all of the vendors and restaurants we visited. Highly recommend.

We had the luck to have Yannis Ninos with us during the last day of our vacations in Athens! No words can describe our experience with Yannis, an extremely qualified, friendly and passionate about greek food chef! We visited the best places in the center of Athens and enjoyed fantastic flavors that made us feel locals for these 4 hours! If you visit Athens, this walk is a must! Remember to ask for Yannis!

Our group had a fantastic taste of Greek cuisine along with a wonderful tour through Athen’s Central Market. Thank you Chief George for sharing your Wealth of information on Greek food culture. You are a wonderful guide.

We recently took the walking Flavors of Athens tour. Our guide was Yannis, an architectural, history, religious, chef. What a four-hour tour - it ended too soon.

Yannis took us to his favorite local stops:
• First dried nuts and fruits, candies
• Second, a street stand for Koulouri, sort of a Greek bagel. Apparently, Greeks have coffee at home and stop for these on the way to work.
• Third, his grandmother’s bribe to sit quietly in church. Lukumades is a sort of donut hole served with honey and cinnamon or stuffed with creams
• Fourth, Greek coffee and fruit on a spoon, if no sweet is served at your “friend’s home then they don’t really like you. Guess we passed the test.
• Fifth, Athens meat market, on to the fish market and then then vegetable and fruit market
• Sixth, a sit down for dried meats, cheese, fruit from the market and ouzo
• Finally, chicken shawarma.

All the while we walked, he gave us the history of the various areas, the cultural backdrop to Greek cuisine and his personal insights. Yannis made this a fun, foodie, memorable tour.
