“Outstanding Food & Setting”
Reviewed 12 October 2013

I had gone by this restaurant several times but never stopped in. On my final night in Athens early October I decided to go. I arrived around 6:45 p.m. and I had the place to myself and the best seat in the open-air area with a lovely view of Athens in the background and beautiful home and rooftop patio filled with plants in the foreground. I ordered a set menu starting with Greek bread lightly toasted with butter and olive oil, Greek salad, Greek olives with marinated peppers, stuffed grape leaves and fried squash couquettes. The food was just fabulous and that was only the starter course. The main course arrived consisting of pork medallions and oven roasted potatoes. Even better. I also had 1/2 carafe of red house wine, also very good. The atmosphere, quality of the food, view and price were all excellent. It was one of the best meals I've had in Greece.

“Best meal we had in Athens! Great atmosphere, great food.”
Reviewed 2 October 2013

We stumbled on this restaurant on our first night in Athens while walking through the Plaka and going by a number of restaurants. This was on the highest spot and a bit away from the craziness of some of the other ones. Really charming atmosphere and at the foothill of the Acropolis...but honestly I wouldn't go for the view. First there's a huge tree that blocks most of it and second it's so close to the hill that it's almost too close to see it. Having said that...who cares! The outdoor atmosphere is charming. The food is the usual Greek food you'd expect (greek salad, dips, dolmades, moussaka) except it was bar none the best we had throughout our trip, even compared to more "high brow" places we tried. The greek salad was big, delicious, and fresh. The moussaka was really light tasting which is a welcome change. And we were offered a little complimentary dessert which was a nice gesture. In retrospect, we should have gone back our other evenings in Athens instead of trying of couple of other places which left us completely unimpressed by comparison.

“Charming restaurant, delicious simple food, great service”
Reviewed 20 September 2013

My husband and I came across this restaurant by accident. A man was standing on the street and welcomed us in- we followed.
It was 130pm and we were the only diners present save forbtge owner and her staff/ friends.
The service was excellent and the food was really good.
The bread was grilled with garlic and olive oil and i had to strongly refrain from filling up on too much. A complimentary plate of olives and pickled peppers was also brought to the table.
We shared saganaki which was delicious (we have been hunting for the best saganaki in athens and under suffrance have eaten a great deal of it) and we had a lovely dish of sausage, pepper and tomato. Rustic and moreish. We washed it all down with some retsina. I could have quite easily sat there drinking all afternoon.
Our hosts were so charming that they brought complementary yoghurt and cherry couli yo the table, and a piece of orange semolina cake which was so good i would have happily paid for it.
The bill totalled less than 30 euros which was excellent value.
Don't let the absence of diners dissuade you. Go and enjoy a meal at this restaurant!

“Hidden secret”
Reviewed 19 September 2013 via mobile

We stumbled upon this place after a typical poor experience at the cafe at the Acropolis Museum. We were delighted by the friendly approach and the simple, fresh delicious food. The location is hidden away in a back street along the side of the Acropolis and provides a quiet haven from all the hustle, with some enjoyable basic food, all very reasonably priced compared to restaurants in the heart of Plaka.
