I stay there fairly often so am not sure what to add. Just continued amazement, perhaps, at how they manage to maintain the same quality year after year, crisis or not. The rooms look like they we decorated yesterday, unless you look really hard, and the staff remain keen to help as ever. It is the sort of professionalism you would expect in the Ritz except it is much cheaper and no stuffy barman tells you to put on your jacket in sweltering heat. Oh yes, a gripe - not the fried eggs again (whose yokes are still set even when they arrive fresh from the kitchen) but the coffee at breakfast: the system is rather inconsistent; sometimes a waiter or waitress is on hand to pour you a coffee, some times not; sometimes you grab a thermos if there is one on the counter and sometimes there is not; for the many coffee addicts among us a good cup of coffee is desperately desired as soon as you get into the breakfast room - perhaps a couple of machines that deliver a fresh brew at the touch of a button? The coffee might then be better too. Anyway, a minor gripe which will not drive me to another hotel.

We found this hotel good value for money. We had two seperate rooms for the 4 (2 children) of us. It was pointed out as a room with connecting doors. But it's rather a private corridor with two doors on this corridor. This was very private for us as parents (and much appreciated). We liked breakfast where all necessary options where available. We think 10h30 is somewhat early to close down the buffet because lots of clients come from GMT or GMT+1. The latter is our case, so in our timezone-feeling (our first day) it closes (and it really does it on time) at 9h30. But not a big problem.
It is true, it is not the most beautiful part of town (we did not find a building without graffiti) but we did not have any problem, neither when arriving late. Very convenient close to 2 metro-stations (Omnia and Monistiraki), the old town (Plaka), the bazaar (one block away). We found the beds very comfortable, the airco perfectly running (without to much noise), the design beautiful. We enjoyed the pool area. It's true, a small pool with sometimes not enough sunbeds for all present. But hey, then we shared a bed, did swim some more and enjoyed the wonderful view. We can certainly recommend the cocktails (allthough somewhat pricy). The best we had in Greece on our trip.
The only thing we did not appreciate was the doorman (security) on arrival. We arrived around 23h at the airport. The taxidriver did everything (not driving like the Greece drivers normally do) to arrive after midnight. He wanted to charge the double price, which is normal after midnight, but in our case we would have appreciated a compromis. The doorman stressed that we had to pay double. I expect from a host to take side of his newly arriving client. It did not spoil the overall experience, but I hope that management keeps a close watch on service-details like this one.

Pros:
I liked all. It's one of the best hotels I staid, despite of it's a four star hotel. I was impressed by modern and clean design, location is also nice, there are excellent facilities, staff is friendly and helpful. Perfect location in the center of Athens, near to Omonia Square. Wonderfull view to Acropolis from Rooftop Air Lounge Bar, that offers skyline views by the pool. Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day, so it should be nutritious... And it was. So in summary everything was great!

Cons:
For an extra spa touch, maybe they should expand their spa/relaxation services...

Room Tip: If you don't want to see graffiti designed buildings, choose the rooms with views of the Acropol...

We stayed for 2 nights on of honeymoon in July. Pros - location, location, location, rooftop pool & bar area, modern feel, substantial breakfast, helpful 24 hour staff. Cons - not that cheap, but the amenties are what you pay for. Would stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that has views of the parthenon - there can't be many of them as it's through...

Highlight of the hotel is the rooftop bar and pool area - it has a funky feel to it - great place to chill overlooking the city of Athens. Plenty of sofas to relax in, they make great cocktails, the food is contemporary and tasty, pool is small but fine for a dip to cool off. The kids staying in the hotel made the most of it.

Next highlight is the helpfulness of the staff. We had a few things that needed sorting out an they were onto it straight away with a friendly smile. We left early for the airport and, without requesting it, we were given a take-away breakfast. When we needed a taxi, they would let us know how much we should expect to pay to get to our destination.

Location is near the central market in a "real" part of Athens (I've stayed near the touristy Plaka area before and liked the fact that this hotel is not the midst of the tourist mayhem there). We strolled down Athina street and did some shopping on Ermou street where there are plenty of affordable Greek fashion stores and standard chain stores (Zara, H&M, Esprit, Diesel, etc). I liked the Greek fashion shops and found the shop assistants friendly and helpful (and most were proficient in English).

The style of the rooms is very contemporary and refreshing, reasonably compact but well laid out, and with a good shower. Bed and pillows were really comfy. Room was very clean, replenishment of toiletries was hit and miss.

I'll stay here again next time I'm in Athens.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights (July 22nd - 26th) and quite frankly, we had mixed feelings about our time there.

On the plus side, the hotel was situated in a very handy location, close to the Monastiraki metro station (approximately 7 minutes walk). The hotel itself was fairly modern and somewhat clean (I'll explain later on) with several handy amenities such as a great breakfast buffet in the morning (included with the booking), gym, sauna, computer room, 24 reception and rooftop patio with pool and bar.

We really enjoyed the morning breakfast as there was lots of choice and seating available. Staff seemed ok, although it depended on who was working, some would acknowledge us when walked through the lobby, some not so much.

Our room was fairly comfortable with a queen bed (a tad on the firm side though) with nice furnishings. We had a balcony view facing the the street, which sadly, could get rather noisy at night so we slept with the door closed.

Now for the not so good……

1) Upon arriving at the hotel, we did our usual walk around to see the facilities and were utterly disgusted to see (we think a manager of some sort) sitting in an office beside the gym with a big stinky cigarette burning away, making the whole area reek of smoke!

2) While our room appeared clean, upon further inspection (like when just turning on the nightside lamps) you could see a good layer of dust build up, obviously meaning that it had been a while since certain items had been dusted. We believe at most the beds were made and washrooms cleaned, that's it.

3) The rooftop patio/pool/bar was hit and miss, meaning depending on what time you got up there, you might not get a lounger anywhere. As well, the one time we did get in the pool, we (and other guests) were unfortunately bombarded by a family who thought it was great to throw each other in and/or simply jump in the pool (completely ignoring the posted rules forbidding this). Staff simply turned a blind eye to this which made it worse.

4) Staff on the rooftop we found to be mediocre at best. While they did offer a mild "hello" that was usually the end of it, unless you ordered something. On one occasion, we went up during the late afternoon for the purpose of having dinner. While there was very little traffic in the bar area, we sat at a table for 10 minutes while watching the male and female employees talking to each other, clearly ignoring us. I then had to approach them to ask for menus. What was disturbing was the table next to us that had a half eaten hamburger and fries sitting at an empty table, without so much as a glance from the two employees.

In any event, after seeing the choices (including the hamburger selection which was selling for 16 euros) we simply had a drink and left after 35 minutes. (did I mention the burger was still sitting on the next table when we left too!)

5) The shower in our room was a joke, flooding the bathroom floor every time, which became very annoying, thankfully there was a drain nearby!

6) Wifi was hit or miss, especially after 10 pm!

All in all, while we weren't irate with our stay here, it was somewhat disappointing, given that Fresh Hotel is really pushing their "fresh" approach to their customers. I think with a little follow up in terms of cleanliness and staff this place could be a lot more appealing.

Overall, we made the most of our trip to Athens and enjoyed the many amazing sights we saw, however, we were extremely saddened by the condition of the majority of the city, namely; the vast amount of unsightly graffiti on many of the buildings and historical monuments.

Furthermore, the amount of cigarette smoke while walking around the city was overwhelming at times! I will note though that in spite of these negative issues, we met some extremely nice local people who were awesome!

the hotel is well located , great view from the top roof terrace and pool, nice restaurant, when we where there it was crowded with children, nothing against, but the place is small for children to play, etc.
rooms are small and loud specially when looking to the street, in front is a hostel and has loud music until midnight, bathrooms are small and the shower is small
The hotel needs to have a re-fresh soon !!1 staff at reception was very nice, breakfast is good.
