My husband and I stayed at Eridanus Luxury Art Hotel on 10 June 2011. The hotel arranged transportation from and to the airport and our driver effortlesly drove us from and to the airport! (Have you ever driven in Athens?) We will definitly use the same driver again!
The word luxury really gets a new meaning from the moment you enter the hotel. The breathtaking interior which combines old and modern with excellence and the hospitality of the staff immediately made us feel at home! We sayed in a Acropolis view room which was truly spectacular. Our room had everything you would expect from a five star Hotel!!
Eridanus is perfectly located within walking distance of all the historic sites which was very convenient as we only had the afternoon to explore.
Our breakfast was home cooked and very tasty and we had the BEST coffee EVER!!!
We will be back!!!!

The rooms in this hotel were great, particularly the bathrooms. Front desk personnel were also very friendly and helpful. In fact, on the day we checked out, they allowed us not only to leave our luggage at the hotel until out departure later in the day, they also made arrangements for us to have a shower in the fitness facility. This was really welcome after a long, hot day in Athens site-seeing. There was also a complimentary breakfast included, and the there was a broad selection of high quality items-very enjoyable. Others have mentioned the location as a downside, which is probably true. This is not the newest section of town, but we never felt in danger walking in the area at night. The location of Metro stops may be an issue for some, as the nearest one is 1/3 to 1/2 mile away.
Overall a great stay and I would highly recommend it.

Staff all friendly, helpful, most spoke more than enuf English so could get what we needed. Breakfasts were awesome, more Scandanavian than Mediterranean. Location very convenient, close to metro stop, many buses run on street in front of hotel, so arrival from airport and leaving for Piraeus were simple. I _think_ we had the impression that we'd find a roof-top restaurant, but while clearly there once was such, it was closed. There was no dearth of good restaurants in reach, even on foot, however. While there was no Wi-Fi available, at least in our room, we were lent an ethernet cable so we could connect to a network outlet on the wall behind the desk; the front desk also had a loaner PC one could use to do internet work. Electric outlets were recessed 1" and had only two prong receptacles [220-240V]. We were allowed to store our luggage in the office after check-out til time to head for an overnight ship to Crete, and when we returned for the luggage we're offered the use of the showers & towels in the fitness to wash off the day's sweat.
BTW: Athens got a bad wrap in the press for being dirty -- not our impression at all, and no hint of the financial difficulties of Greece either.
If I ever get back to Athens, I'd certainly chose the Eridanus again.

A last minute decision to visit Athens while on holiday in Rhodes. Eridanus ticked all the boxes, especially as we wanted to find a hotel with a view of the acropolis.

Lovely modern clean hotel, huge walk in shower room and a bath. Some rooms have a great view from balconies.

I had the best nights sleep for weeks. Even though the hotel is on a busy road, once you settle down for the night and close the balcony door you can't hear a thing.

The area around the hotel is far from as luxurious as the hotel, it is a bit run down in fact but I think this contributes to the charm of the place.

Only 20 minutes walk from Acropolis and the amazing ancient Agora (which I think is as spectacular as the Parthanon) it is very central and a great base for a trip to Athens.

If you're flying in to Athens remember the best way into central Athens in via the x95 bus from right outside departures, this will take you right into the heart of Athens on a nicely air conditioned modern bus.

We really liked the hotel. It was a great hotel especially for the price. Unfortunately, it abuts a very bad area and the staff seemed clueless as to how bad it really is. They sent us down the street (dark) to a local mini mart where my wife was grabbed by the neck on the way back and her necklace ripped off in about 1.5 seconds. The hotel did not offer to call the police and only said that they had never before had any bad experiences. Hopefully, this will clue them in to the dangers of their neighborhood. Having said that, we would stay here again if we ever (unlikey) returned to Athens. Should we return to Greece, we would not leave the airport and instead go directly to Crete.

I stayed at this hotel for four nights with my wife in early July. We took the metro from the airport to Kerameikos (about 45 minutes). After getting off the metro we got completely lost and waived down a cab to take us a couple blocks to the hotel. The hotel is approx 15 minute walk from the hotel when you know where you are going.

Upon arrival to the hotel I enjoyed the look, though the surrounding area is a mess. Dont worry, most of the city is covered with graffiti, but it is safe. The hotel is located on a very busy street. Be careful when crossing, greek drivers make NY drivers look like pros.

The room is a good size. We had a comfy king size bed. The bed was not exactly a king bed, but two twins pushed together. The bathroom was very large with a nice shower.

Had a safe I was not able to lock. The hotel is a short walk to some of the sights, very good food up the street. Take a left out, right at the first light. Take the street up and you should find it.

Our room had a little view of the Acropolis.

Free internet, had to ask the front desk for a cord. We got no wifi in room, but did connect when attached to the cord in the wall.

Free breakfast, which was ok.

Front desk was very helpful.

In summary we enjoyed our stay, no complaints. I would not give it a 5 star rating but good.

the hotel wasn't really good. we had to stay the first night in a room which was directly on the large road crossing athen. It was very noisy, the second night we could move to an other room in the backyard, this one was much better. They had no Wi-Fi connection. can't recommend the hotel.
