We stayed there for one night in January 2010. The hotel is very nicely decorated throughout and the room (standard double) was spacious and very well equipped. The bathroom was very good and had Hermes toiletries and everything was clean and in good repair and working condition. Breakfast was very good and the staff were extremely polite and helpful at all times.

The location is very convenient with just a few minutes walk to Plaka, Thisio, Monastiraki and the Acropolis. Τhese area also excellent locations for going out in the evening, not just daytime sightseeing.

The only niggle is that if you are staying for more than a night or two and do plan to spend some time in the room you might want to pay (the hefty) extra for an Acropolis view room. Our room had a rather uninteresting back street view of a chinese supermarket and other people's back yards.

We stayed at Eridanus for 4 nights. Our room was very nice, good design, immaculate, bed was very comfortable with luxurious linens, bathroom luxurious with Hermes amenities, bathrobe, in total a pleasant luxury after a hot day of sightseeing. Breakfast was abundant in a very pleasant dining room, (they will also make you Greek coffee if you request it), breakfast staff very polite and pleasant. The hotel is close to all historical and tourist attractions (15 minutes walk to Acropolis and Plaka) but you are not the midst of the tourist area. The only very minor (in the overall experience) minus was the neighborhood (upcoming), a few blocks that were not too pleasant. Overall, staying there was a very esthetically pleasing experience, and I would recommend it to anyone who cares about having an oasis to come back to and feel pampered after a grueling day of being a tourist.

When we arrived at the hotel, we understood what previous Tripadvisor clients had mentioned - the rather dingy district, but from the moment we went through the doors, everything changed! Our first lovely surprise was that we had been upgraded to a lovely room (501) with a large balcony and lots of space. The view of the Acropolis from the balcony was second to none - particularly as it became floodlit at night. Just watching the lights come on was fantastic. Being on the top floor we were not particularly troubled by the busy street below, but I would think the lower rooms with Acropolis view would be rather noisy at night, as traffic seems to go on throughout! The bed was comfortable and the decor was modern and imaginative - just a lovely place to come back to after walking around Athens all day! The bathroom was well equipped and attractive, but the one thing we found rather odd was that the shower and toilet were within the same enclosure, so that when the shower was on the toilet seat got wet, and the floor remained wet for the next person using the loo; it was difficult not to get your trousers wet! This was undoubtedly to fit a shower and bath into the room, and it was better than not having one of them!

The breakfast was very varied, and some people found them to be wonderful, but I suppose it depends on what you like for breakfast! There was a full English, which was fine if you like that, and there were meats and cheeses, which again were fine, but our preference is for fresh fruit and yoghurt, and there was very little in the way of fruit - apart from tinned. This is not really a complaint about the food, it is more a comment on what was available. There were lots of cakes and sweetmeats - which I wouldn't dream of eating for breakfast - but I am sure some people would enjoy. Omelettes and other forms of eggs were offered, and looked well cooked and appetising.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and would recommend restaurants and ring to make reservations. This was a lovely hotel, and we really enjoyed being there.

The hotel is nice, I very much like the location, it has good A/C and the design is good. A very nice basis for a stay in Athens and certainly superior to the bigger chain hotels there. Small but well-appointed rooms (I had a superior though and would not want to know how small the regular ones are!). No lobby really and a lot of steps up and down, and the public areas a bit worn, but still nice.

My main problem was that an advertisement had promised an upgrade to an Acropolis view (which I could not have used very much), but I did not receive it when checking in late; I was, however, promised to get one by the next day. The next day, when asking about it, I was told I could have one but would have to pay an extra €120, which I naturally declined. I must say I minded both the fact and the mixed messages. I am also amazed about the praise for the breakfast in some reviews; the selecion was not good, there was nothing local whatsoever, and altogether I thought it was a *** affair. But as I am not a big breakfaster, this did not matter too much. Very nice touch: Free softdrinks from the minibar.

As a tip for the area, next to the already-mentioned Gazi area for pubs and the like, I would recommend the relatively new Museum of Islamic Art, not your typical Athens venue but a superb instutution with a great collection and a very nice roof cafe. It is literally 5 minutes walking from the Eridanus.

If we're ever back in Athens, we'll definitely be staying here. The hotel is well-appointed with a rooftop restaurant with an amazing view of the Acropolis. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the hotel is a short walk to restaurants, cafes, and the metro.

Stayed in Eridanus hotel for 2 nights with my family and we certainly enjoyed the place. We stayed in a junior suite, witch were very spacious with 2 seperated rooms and a great bathroom equiped with everything someone can ask in order to make his trip more than comfortable: 2 LCD TV, 2 mini bars with free of charge refreshments, hydromassage, beautifull and luxurius furniture and bed linens and many more. The service was geat and the staff very helpfull, the breakfast was very good and there was free of charge parking place. The area was quite central near Gazi (five minutes on walk), a very nice area full of cafe, bars and restaurants where is aslo is Technopolis (a great place with several culture events taking place every day). We 'll return at Eridanus hotel. Certainly reccomended.
