This is a beautiful hotel in the city centre. The room was fantastic. I stayed there two times and would prefer it again. It is a bit far from Syntagma square and difficult to get there is you have children.

I stayed here with my wife for 3 nights and found the hotel very clean and well managed. The Roof Top Pool - Bar area gives a clear view of the Acropolis. Hotel is located on the main road with a Road Junction CrossRoad which gives better connectivity. Staffs are very helpful.

Room Tip: Corner Rooms on any of the Floors

My boyfriend and I stayed here for only one night, but I would have loved to stay longer! We were upgraded free of charge to an executive suite which was gorgeous and very clean with a lovely jacuzzi tub. Breakfast was included, which was nice, but the breakfast was only okay. Not a great selection. The location is great because it's only a five minute walk from the metro station, where you can take a train and get to the Acropolis station in only five minutes. The staff was also pleasant and helpful, especially Maria. I would definitely not recommend eating at the adjacent restaurant. The service was extremely slow and the food was very bad. Overall though, this is a great place to stay in Athens!

The Melia hotel in Athens was a nice play to stay during our short time in Athens for a reasonable price. The rooms and restrooms were very nice and clean. The downstairs bar had a few selections for a leisurely snack. They also offer continental breakfast that was typical. (The chocolate croissants were the best!). The rooftop pool bar/restaurant was fantastic! The rooftop does close for a few hours in the afternoon/evening to switch between pool bar to restaurant. This was an issue for photography hobbiests trying to catch the sunset photos and not allowed out there during switch-over. The view of the acropolis and the city isn't very impressive during the day but once you go at night it's a phenomenal view. The atmosphere, romantic setting and food are awesome. Prices for dinner were very reasonable given the convenience and the view.

Me and my friend stayed at Melia Athens and we were both very pleased. We had searched through various hotels but the Melia rooftop pool was what sold it for us. Some of the reviews we read before travelling warned about the safety of the area but throughout our visit we regularly walked to and from the hotel late at night and at no point did we feel unsafe.

There are handy little cafes and shops close by to the hotel so if you want a snack or drink of juice without having to pay hotel prices they are very handy.

Athens city centre and the subway are both close by and it was easy to travel back and forth even late at night.

The rooms were spacious and modern and I was impressed with the additional features such as the speakers in the bathroom.

The roof top pool completely sold it to us. The pool itself was freezing! but after sometime sunbathing we worked up the courage to take a dip and it wasn't too bad once you were in. The Sky Lounge bar served a variety of drinks and snacks and it wasn't over priced considering your surroundings. There is also a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room on the top floor which is always a nice addition.

Overall if you are in Athens to do some sightseeing and take in the surroundings I would recommended the Melia hotel as the rooftop pool does add that little bit of luxury and is much appreciated after a day of walking around in the sun.

Room Tip: If you can, definitely visit Lake Vouliagmeni. It's amazing. This lovely lake sheltered by rocks...

I stayed with my boyfriend at the Melia Athens In April. We found the hotel to be perfectly adequate for our needs. On arrival we were informed the hotel was full and so were upgraded to a supreme room which had an amazing jaccuzzi bath tub which I thoroughly enjoyed,
On booking I had been looking for a hotel with a pool and the Melia Athens had a rooftop pool which the website states does not open till midmay. However to our surprise this was already open when we arrived - just as well we brought our swimming kit! The upstairs pool bar area was very enjoyable and had great views - even if the pool was a little cold! They also served very nice cocktails and hot/cold drinks!
The only reason I have rated a 4 and not a 5 is I think the breakfast could have been slightly better. It had a a good selection but was not things I really wanted and the tinned fruit was in tiny little bowels,
I also asked one of the female staff at recption where the main train station was from athens to thessaloniki and she did not know. Which surprised me as it seems there is only 1 main train station in athens - for reference this was Larissa station!
Definately recommend!
