We made our way up Filopappos late one afternoon. It is an easy walk up from the north western side of the acropolis, probably 15 minutes. We made our way up from the area where the buses stop to drop off for the Acropolis. There was only one other lot of people on the top of the hill, so we just about had the place to ourselves. Did see a number of dogs wandering around, but no trouble.Nice monument at the top, but it was the views that we loved. You got a great view of the Acropolis, especially the Parthenon. You can also get views over the city to the sea as well. It seems that very few people make the effort, but YOU should.

It's a little rocky hill with stairs up it. Offers the best views of the Acropolis we had in our limited time. We were there in the morning, not too many people on the hill so we had some relatively "stranger free" pictures. Kids enjoyed climbing on the hill as well.

The views here are outstanding. Very few people there. The entrance is just across from the parking area of the Acropolis. It is an easy walk uphill. We were there at 9 AM in the morning so no one there. We did not have any trouble with folks bothering us (taking our packs or such) as noted by others. Got some great pics of the area up there.

One of the places to go in Athens, preferably during the evening on clear days. Nice panoramic views of Athens. Do go up from the road and not the stairs.

Inside the center of Athens ,this amazing hill gives you the feeling that you are a part of the history. The people that walked here before centuries created that we call West civilization.
