Such a nice hotel in such a great location. The hotel is very nice and clean, rooms are great with a great view of the acropolis site, great beds and bathroom and also a little kitchen in the room. The hotel is walking distance from the most historic places in athens. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially at breakfast! It was a very perfect stay and i will be back for sure!

Lovely suite accommodation in the Plaka, just near Hadrian's Gate. The suite we had overlooked the road and our balcony had views to the gate on one side and up to the Acropolis on the other. A few meters from the hotel were hundreds of stores selling every conceivable tourist articles, and many taverna. The suite was large, had a lounge dining area with a kitchenette, a big bedroom, and a good sized bathroom. The decor was lovely. The customer service was good, we were given a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolates on arrival, and the only thing that keeps me from giving a perfect score is that the service didn't go that extra mile. An example was that we came in on a Saturday night and were leaving Monday, we asked about laundry service and the man who checked us in indicated there would be no problem, just bring to reception in the morning or ring. Unfortunately when we brought it down first thing in the morning we were told no laundry service Sunday, and no suggestion was made of any alternative.
I would return, it was a nice stay, just not perfect.

The hotel is situated very central to most historic places in Athens; within walking distance to most attractions. Also very central to shopping area as well as Syntagma Square and restaurants. Could do with a microwave in kitchenette. Rooms are cleaned on a daily basis and staff are very helpful and extremely friendly. Would stay there again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with the view of the Acropolis which has a balcony facing the street. Standard roo...

We stayed for 2 nights at the end of our honeymoon. Upon arrival I was quite rattled after a bad taxi driver experience and the staff were just lovely! Our room was a standard room, however it was huge! The lovely girls on reception also sent us up a bottle of bubbly! The reception staff were also very good at offering us directions and restaurant advice. I'd highly recommend a stay.

If you are only in Athens a few days, be it a cruise, business, whatever - AVA is the place to stay. Not only are you conveniently located in Plaka, the old town of Athens - with the Acropolis on your right and Hadrians Arch and the main street, Amalias for taxis/metro/tram, etc on your left, but the hotel offers pretty much every amenity - multiple outlets, a mini kitchen, flat screens, complementary movies, comfy bed, soundproofed windows (a must with the increased vespa use). What it lacks (an on-site restaurant/bar, pool), is more than made up for by the phenomenal attention you receive from staff - friendly, unpretentious, helpful, and kind.

We used AmX rewards to book two nights after a week on the islands. They offered an upgrade to a 1-bedroom suite, with a balcony, right on Lyssikratous. I was worried about noice, but the owners left no stone unturned when it came to guest's comfort.

The buffet breakfast was more than sufficient, with fresh-squeezed juices and coffee of your choice, eggs, breakfast ham/bacon/sausage, and the usual accoutremonts.

Although we are frequent visitors to Greece, we will keep AVA on our list for future stays.

Our comfortable suite was perfect for our family of four. We were greeted warmly and provided a bottle of champagne. The location is perfect for walking to the acropolis, temple of Zeus, Hadrian's arch, and much of old Athens. We found excellent restaurants and shopping nearby. We just couldn't have been happier.

The Ava Hotel is a real gem! The service, ambiance and location are all top notch. After a day running around Athens in the heat, it was an oasis of calm and rejuvenation. We chose a suite in the back of the hotel due to price mostly but also because we felt we wouldn't spend much time on a balcony in the July heat. We were so happy each day to return to the Ava to refresh before a lovely dinner close by. It's easy to walk to other neighborhoods for a meal or sight -- everything is so convenient. The front desk and breakfast staff are very friendly and very accommodating.
