I can't say much more, but agree with the other rave reviews of this hotel. Helpful staff, beautiful bathrooms, accommodating when 2 babycots were requested, and the baby linens were adorable! The room we had included a small balcony so my husband and I could relax outside while the kids slept. It's close to everything, and the kitchenette was quite useful for storing our baby formula and food, and heating water. The only difficulty was the parking. It doesn't have any parking lots near by, and it's almost impossible to find a spot to unload your luggage. This really isn't the hotel's fault though, as the hotel is located on a tiny street. The staff was very nice to help us get loaded fast so we didn't hold up the impatient drivers behind us! I can't complain too much though, everything else was so wonderful!

Ok, you're planning a trip to Athens. Just book the hotel. 4 of us from Indiana, USA. Two girls 6 and 9, and mom and dad. Just book the hotel. Location of hotel is close to everything. Staff is wonderful. Just book the hotel. Breakfast is included, may be a little more than you will pay for a meal outside, but it is a wonderful starting off point before you start exploring. Rooms are huge, executive suite has separate bedroom, with living room with fold out couch. Just book the hotel. Now, if you're looking for a hotel with a doorman, a chef to make you a custom omelet for breakfast, this isn't your place.

It was our first time in Athens (2-full days) and the AVA is a great place to see the main sites of Athens. All the major sites are within walking distance and the AVA is a small hotel with good service, friendly and helpful staff, all in a quiet and calming address just steps away from Plaka, Acropolis, etc. Because we were a family of 5, we were shown an available suite that was only a small additional charge, but had more room, as well as a spacious rooftop balcony - a great place for the early risers to relax, read, etc. while others are still sleeping. Breakfast was small but had a fresh and delicious selection that kept us going throughout the hot mornings and until mid afternoon.

I am the type that does a lot of research before choosing a hotel. I wasn't sure we wanted to stay at AVA--we never stay in the #1 rated hotel because they are usually above our budget. Well, we rationalized that it would be worth it because it seemed perfect for our family with two teens--AND IT WAS! :) I would highly recommend this hotel. Not only is it calm, clean, and peaceful but because of the location we walked almost exclusively to the major sites and museums. Thus we avoid the "chaos, noise, traffic and pollution" that can be Athens and instead had a delightful trip. The wonderful staff had lots of tips for us, made reservations at any restaurants we wanted and generally made us feel cared for at every step of the way. The location is quiet, and near pedestrian areas and parks so we really experienced the best of Athens. We also totally enjoyed the guidebooks in the room (my husband refused the walking tour so we were on our own to learn about Athens) and so the books were invaluable. As we had very long, packed days of touring, we did take the breakfast and enjoyed it very much. We had an Executive Suite, and my teens were on the pullout bed and rollaway cot so it was nice to have separate beds for them.

We stayed here mainly based on Trip Advisor Reviews and could not have been happier. Well, maybe if it cost a bit less! This was a wonderful place to stay - close to everything - the Plaka, the Acropolis, the new Acropolis Museum. Very modern and spacious and the service was exceptional. I couldn't recommend it more highly. We were a family of 3 and we stayed in an executive apartment. Loved every minute of the stay. Best place on our entire trip. We didn't buy the breakfast, as it was expensive, and the Plaka is just down the street.

It's hard to add anything different from previous reviews. The Ava Hotel really is in the perfect spot to explore Plaka, the Acropolis, Agora, Syntagma Square etc. It's easy to get to from the airport. We hopped on a bus to Syntagma Square and you stay on it until the end of the ride. It takes 45 minutes or so, but it can't get any easier. From the square the hotel is not more than a five minute walk. Unless you have a ton of luggage, it doesn't pay to take a cab it really can't get any easier. We had dinner a few blocks away in a sidewalk taverna and walked around until late. The streets were well lit and busy at midnight. We felt completely sate. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. All of our communication previous to our arrival were prompt. We were able to store our luggage with them on our last day. The room was very large and clean. Truely, everything was great!
