“great cheap accomadation for brief stay”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 September 2013

we stayed for 2 nights at the end of our Island hop to visit some sights in Athens, we had read the bad reviews about the area and hotel and to be honest no its not in the best place but is no where near as bad as some said.and the hotel is old yes but the rooms are clean very small but for the price you really cant complain!!!

Room Tip: Aroom away from the lifts would be advisable as the metal doors are loud and a lot of inconsiderate...

The area is ugly and full of prostitutes, but it is a really good hotel. The metro station (Omonia) is close enough. The rooms are bright and clean, the breakfast is good, the staff is friendly. In particular, the senior staff has thousands of tips and advice and many stories to tell and makes you feel really at home. In the evening you have to keep your eyes wide open. However to a lonely girl like me nothing happened.

Overall I was satisfied with the hotel. It is in the center of the city, decent service, decent breakfast and most of all the concierge let us do the check-out one hour later in order to be able to visit some more of Athens.
The neighborhood is not the prettiest but we walked during night time minding our own business with no problem.

I stayed here 7 nights and never once had my room or shower cleaned, then on the last day housekeeping let him/her self in and stole 5 packs of cigarettes. Your bags are absolutely not safe in this place.

VakisAthens, Manager at Hotel Aristoteles, responded to this review, 13 September 2013
This review is a total lie . Probably the person who wrote it never stayed at the Aristoteles hotel in Athens.
We provide daily housekeeping and the personel who do this are working with us many years and we never had complains like this before.
Having the right to review doesn't give you the right to insult people!!

A very unfriendly receiving of the receptionist. He gave us a horrible room, with a view to a wall (!). Small room, poor light, incredible small elevator, small bathroom, small douche cabin, no parking, no balcony, small TV, same breakfast every morning (one thin slice of ham, one thin slice of cheese, one egg, one small portion of butter, one small portion of jam, coffee, tea, juice, plenty of bread).

Good price, good location, clean, good air condition.

Room Tip: Ask not to receive room 307. And, probably, 107, 207, 407, etc.

We stayed to nights in this hotel on our way from Athens to the sea resort. It was the best value for money. Clean beds, recently refurbished rooms, good breakfast (bred, butter, jam, cooked egg, ham and cheese, milk an musli, coffee/tea, juice, canned peaches), nice entrance hall where we were sitting when watching TV. The area is not that good, but close to Omonia metro station and to Larissa railway station. There were many families kids, mature couples, students staying in that hotel.

Aristoteles hotel was great, we had a spacious room with a good tv and bathroom- and the included breakfast was so good! but as far as the area goes .. Do not stay here!!
We were terrified to go outside and were even told not to go outside at night !, druggies hanging around every corner , men staring you down, for two nights of our stay there was a protest going on outside . Horrible. I would recommend staying in plaka instead :)
